Decided to visit Krakow on route to Milan via Brussels, Cologne and Warsaw, that's the route of the overnight sleeper and selected this hotel at random, and a very excellent choice it was too.
In our case we walked from the station which was very easy once you get your bearings as the hotel is on the edge of the old city next to the Planty (which is a park that surrounds the old city and was the course of the old city wall) I guess this took about 20 minutes, once we knew exactly where we were going we got this down to about 12 minutes.
As I said the hotel is on the edge of the old city a few minutes walk from the city square and given we stayed here during the Euro's group stage when Poland were playing there was no noise which can be an issue with city centre hotels.
The hotel is very well appointed, we had a very nice room which overlooked a small courtyard, shaded by trees, at the time of our visit Krakow was very hot but the room was always very cool. The room did have air conditioning but I don't remember using it.
The bed was comfortable and I slept very well, although effectively the king size bed was two singles in so far as you had two separate quilts.
The hotel is on three floors and there is a lift, breakfast was served in the courtyard conservatory and what a breakfast the best ever, a choice of everything and whilst it was continental you could also order eggs cooked every which way.
The only downside and its only a very minor one is that it was not until we left that we discovered that the hotel had a suna and roof terrace, the staff could have mentioned this when we arrived, we noticed when coming down in the lift with our luggage, normally we used the stairs.
It was easy to reach the sites and whilst we walked everywhere, the trams and buses are numerous, Krakow is a lovely city, the Poles are really friendly, plenty of choice food wise numerous restaurants and bars serving catering for all choices.
