My girlfriend and I decided to upgrade in Krakow from a hostel to a hotel. At the price we paid for the hotel, we were not expecting anything fancy - but how we were mind blown. Hotel Wielopole exceeded every expectation we had and was perfect on every front. It was just so inviting and welcoming. Put simply:

Staff: Always smiling, will always go the extra mile, and so friendly. We wrote a personal thanks to the staff.
Cleaniness: 10/10, the room was cleaned every day, and the overall hotel was spotless.
Facilities: Wifi was fast in every room, resturaunt was very reasonably priced with a good selection, the breakfast was nice and worth going down for every morning. We also went on the Auschwitz tour organised by the hotel which was really good. I strongly suggest doing the minibus method than going alone. Air conditioning was an added bonus in the room.
Location: Just minutes from the centre of old town and 10 minutes from the central train station - the location was perfect.
Room: Comfy and cozy. Also very quiet and the hotel has a good calm vibe.

We will be coming back to Krakow and staying here again. Anyone who likes a good, friendly, modern, hotel should stay here!

A happy surprise in Kraków with the most helpful staff who all spoke very good English. I left an item of clothing behind and they posted it all the way back to NZ for me. Nothing seemed too much trouble for the people behind the reception desk including booking our day at Auschwitz and Berkenau. The rooms were quiet overlooking the street, of generous sizing and you could open the windows for fresh air which is always a bonus in these overheated European hotels. Breakfast was large with lots of choice - a toaster for making toast. No other meals served here but much choice in the very large square in the Old Town which is a short walk away.

Hard to add to what has already been said. Hotel, staff, location and cleanliness all first class. We stayed at the beginning of December for a weekend. Just 5 minutes walk to the Old Town. Wonderful atmosphere and stunning buildings. The church is well worth a visit but if you want to take photos make sure you pay up front. We were unaware that it was a requirement and were suitable "told off" by a little old lady in black, who seemed to appear from nowhere! We wondered afterwards had we really seen her or was she a ghost with attitude!!
It is from outside the church that you pick up the free walking tours. Our guide was most interesting and very informative. If you enjoy learning about your surroundings don't miss it. There are a number of walks you can do but we had limited time so we just took the Jewish Quarter walk. So much history in that section and so sad. Excellent part of the city for bars and restaurants. We took a taxi back at night, kindly arranged by the hotel, and is cost just over £2 between three of us. We ate and drank very well for a little over £40 for three of us! We ate at Baroque and than had a drink at Alchemia, both recommendations on TA. Alchemia so sort of Bohemian and you must "go through" the wardrobe to the far rooms! Different and great atmosphere.
We also walked up to the cathedral and I'm sure on a clear day the views would be amazing. Chopin is buried there and although very busy the cathedral is a must with an incredible interior. If you buy a combined ticket you can also access the museum and the big bell and I mean big!
In the late afternoon we visited the salt mine, also organised for us by the hotel. It is well worth the trip and not too far away. So interesting and our guide was very relaxed and more than happy to answer any questions. Great experience until you have to take the lift back up to the surface. It is a 36 person lift but separated into 4 compartments of 9 people and it's neat!! Quite small so if you are claustrophobic you could well find it should we say challenging! However it would a shame to miss it as the trip up takes less than a minute.
Krakow is a wonderful city and we only scratched the surface in a couple of days. We have no hesitation in recommending the city and the hotel and would definitely return, maybe next time in Spring.
We flew with Easyjet, great no problems and our transfers were with Krakow Shuttle also spot on. Great first time trip to Poland.

Wonderful hotel. Good location. The room is very comfortable with large windows. In the best live photos from the site. Service at the highest level. We settled nearly 7:00 faster, thank you for that. Breakfast is delicious, everyone can find something for themselves. Besides the breakfast restaurant offers a Vegetarian menu. Wifi worked constantly. We are happy to stay in this hotel.
