We chose Poland for our holiday this year & decided on Krakow because of its history & I can certainly say it didn't disappoint.
The hotel Alexander was very close to the main square so was ideal for getting out & about.
The hotel itself was ideal , we were bed & breakfast and were pleasantly surprised at what was on offer , we could choose from cereals , a 'cooked' breakfast as well as the normal continental options.
The only minus point with the hotel was that it didn't have a bar as such but we didn't find this too inconvenient with it being so close to the main centre were prices were so cheap so it didn't make much difference.
The weather was glorious , could even say was too hot.
The city offered lots of good drinking & eating options to appeal to everyone ,we especially loved the soup that came served in a bread bowl ,was excellent.
Krakow offered lots of excursion options, we took in Auschwitz , the salt mines and the city tour and all offered good value for money.
All in all this was an excellent city option & we might even consider coming back some time in the future but maybe in winter when we could take in its xmas markets.
Would recommend to anyone looking to get away and visit a city with a lot of culture and history.
