“Great stay at the Senacki”
Reviewed October 9, 2006

Stayed at the Senacki for two nights whilst visitng Krakow for the weekend.

The hotel is in an excellent location - on one of the main streets leading to the old town square and very close to Wawel Castle in the opposite direction.

I, personally, found the staff very helpful - pointing out queries regarding locations on maps, organising a return taxi to the airport for me and caring for my suitcase all day after checking out on the last morning.

The room (302 at the front of the hotel) was clean, the bathroom had loads of hot water and I found the bed comfortable.

Breakfast consisted of cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, dried fruit, various cheeses, cold meats, breads, salad items, jams and cakes etc.

I booked a full day / 2 tour trip with ---- (Point Travel) (not Cracow Tours). The pick up spot was just down the road from the Senacki. I went to Auschwitz at 09.30 and returned at 15.45. Then picked up again at 16.15 and taken to the Salt Mine, returning again at 20.00 - well worth the £37 online price paid in total. This included a really good tour guide at Auschwitz I & II who, herself, put real meaning into the trip from the tone of her voice and knew her stuff well. At the Salt Mine we had Sebastian, who was well liked and a bit of a joker.

Highly recommend Krakow and would definitely recommend the Senacki hotel to anyone.

Our room was very nice and faced the front of the hotel and had a small balcony. There are 20 rooms in the hotel and quite a variation in the rooms.
We found out that only 7 of the 20 rooms have air conditioning (ours did), so it is very important that you specifically request it as part of your reservation if you want it. It was extremely hot in Eastern Europe when we were visiting in July and it was important.

The room was large with a large bathroom and nice shower. The lobby was very small but adequate for two or three persons to wait for a while. The restaurant on the ground floor served a decent breakfast which was included in the room price and appeared to serve good meals for lunch and dinner. We ate our meals with friends in town. There was also a pub in the basement that was open limited hours.

We paid about 140 Euros per night which we thought was reasonable with a location close to the old town and to the castle. It also was a distance from the main square and was somewhat more quiet.

We loved Krakow and this was a perfect location to see all the main sights.

Just returned from a 5 night stay in Krakow. Stayed in Senacki on the 4th night with my wife and nine month old baby. Walked in off the street and booked a double room with breakfast. Very helpful staff, lovely room and very good breakfast. The hotel is a high standard boutique style hotel. The staff will cook omlette, fried eggs or scrambled eggs to order. Mixture of hot and cold meats. The hotel is in an excellent location just off the market square. Travel cot provided free of charge and the hotel is spotless. I would highly recommend the hotel.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Senacki and can not fault the excellent location in the centre of Kracow. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the main street (room 102) and it was lovely. We dined in the restaurant on one night and had a very enjoyable meal. Great location, lovely hotel and very helpful staff.

Very pleased and happy with the hotel. Great location, and within easy walking distance to all the major sites.
Our room - 101 was a suite with a balcony and we could not fault it. Our friends stayed in room 201 which was a suite also but without a balcony.
Our friends suffered from the night street noise but we stayed in the room below them with no trouble. So if you are a light sleeper, then please bear this in mind.
Breakfast was adequate for what we wanted. We are not big breakfast people. We didn't eat at the hotel in the evening as they had a wedding party on. We ate instead at the Copernicus Hotel which was around the corner, excellent food. Another good place to eat where we had lovely food was at the Zsara on the Market Square.
I would recommend this hotel and would be very happy to stay here again.
Staff very helpful and friendly. I fell and twisted my ankle one night and they showed their concern by offering to call a doctor, which I declined, but they helped out by giving me ice to put on my ankle each night to help with the swelling after walking (or limping) around all day. Senacki is a great place to stay and Kracow a great place to visit with plenty to see and plenty of great places to eat.
Try it, you will not be disappointed.

I stayed in a room with a view over the old town (front of hotel). These rooms are the most expensive, but the one I had did not have air-con, whereas other (less expensive) ones did.The street in front of the hotel is particularly noisy at night with drunken youths congregating outside the hotel. My wife and I were disturbed on every night except one. Compaints to the hotel reception were met with a negative attitude.
In general we found the hotel staff surly and unhelpful.
The hotel offered a "safe deposit" facility in reception - this turned out to be a cupboard accesible to other guests in the reception area which was not always "manned"!
Breakfasts were bland to say the least - the quality of the food being poor. On two occasions it was not possible to have dinner in the hotel because of private functions being held there!

We stayed at the Senacki for two nights earlier this month and really liked it. Feels and looks like a boutique hotel.

The hotel and room were immaculately clean. Our room was one of the 4th floor ‘attic’ rooms and it was great. It was big, with nice exposed wood beams. The bathroom and shower were good sized and the shower pressure was awesome.

The young guy working the desk the night we checked in was very friendly, spoke great English and gave us good advice on cellar bars and restaurants.

Breakfast was fine, nothing too extraordinary. The pub in the basement was really nice. Sadly, like almost every pub or restaurant in a hotel, it was always empty. And that is too bad, because it really was the best cellar bar we found in terms of décor and layout. A little pricey for beer, but a cool place to have a drink nonetheless.

Location-wise, the Senacki cannot be beat. About 2-3 minutes walk to the main square and about a 2-minute walk to the Wawel. Not too close and not too far from all the action (and noise). Just perfect.

Wouldn’t think about staying anywhere else next time we return to Krakow.
