Senacki Hotel
Ranked #10 of 261 Hotels in Krakow
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed December 16, 2008

Go away every year in europe to see Christmas markets & was recommended to Krakow. Perhaps markets were not as good as other locations but Krakow is a gem.
Hotel Senacki proved to be an excellent, although the rooms were a little on the small side the cleansiness & amenties were all good. we found the staff very friendly & the cooked breakfast was more than enough to see us through to lunch. The Hotel location could not be bettered as its on the main street leading from the Market square to The castle, literally a couple of minutes from both.
Spent four days in Krakow which is not enough. If you want to do a city tour, use one of the 'golf buggies' two hours well spent.
Lots of good restuarant's & bars to keep you occupied in the evening.
We did the Salt Mines' and Auscvitz, both excellent although for different reasons!
Great place & ranks overall with Prague

The hotel has a superb location, just below Wawel Castle and handy for the Cathedral, river walks, the Jewish district and the Old Town. Only minutes from the largest city square in Europe,

Our room on the second floor overlooked Grodzka Street and the Church of St Peter and St Paul opposite. What a treat. Bedroom with lounge, bathroom and hallway. Everything from the buffet breakfast to the room and beds were perfect for us. I would recommend this hotel. Probably the best City break hotel we have had. Take a small travel kettle if you like to manage your own tea and coffee. We did.

The staff couldn't do enough, they were helpful, polite and made our stay relaxed and enjoyable.

We will go again.

The mothers loved Krakow and the hotel and are planning to go back with their husbands. I have been to Krakow 4 times and love the place and would definately stay at Senacki again!!!

Stayed in a single room for nearly a week in October. This was a good sized room that was nicely furnished but not cluttered. It has a very "homey" feel to it, very comfortable. The well stocked mini-bar was very affordable with enough extra room for your own snacks. Nice bright bathroom with a great shower and lots of hotel-provided toiletries.
Breakfast was included and is served downstairs. It's a cold buffet with a good assortment to chose from, and excellent coffee!
The busy front desk staff were helpful and friendly and my room was kept spotless by the cleaning staff. (If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs as the cleaning staff start really early in the morning and their carts rolling up and down the hallways make a lot of noise. Otherwise my room was very quiet.)
Great location between the main town square and the castle. A bit of a walk to/from the train station (at least with luggage) but the cab fare was inexpensive (it ranged between 16 - 20 zloty).

We arrived early evening after a gruelling 5 hr bus journey from Warsaw ( our flight into Krakow was diverted due to fog) and was delighted to find we were given room 101! This is a beautiful suite with entrance hall, lounge,& ensuite bedroom. All rooms were big, well presented and spotless. The mini bar was well stocked and priced. The bath was massive with plenty of hot water available and the shower was powerful. The bed wasn't too comfortable - rather firm. There was noise from the street outside at night but it didn't disturb my sleep. The hotel is perfect- very central, small and friendly. The breakfast is OK but we had a dinner one night which was very nice. we even took the dessert and mulled wine back to our room and sat on the balcony to watch the crowds go by! Certainly I would stay at the Senacki again but I have seen all I want to in Krakow. The city is lovely, clean and friendly but the shop prices are about the same as in the UK. Beware of the dodgey taxis drivers, who will quote you a price to the airport but on arrival will charge you 50% more, then give you some rubbish excuses.

My husband and I have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Hotel Senacki. We had an excellent stay and would recommend it.

It's perfectly located on a street just off the main square. It takes about 3 mins to walk to the square. The street has a 24-hr small supermarket just opposite the hotel and pharmacies, too. There are quite a few restaurants and bars on the road as well as you walk towards the square. The Pod Aniolami restaurant is 1 min walk from the hotel. We ate here and would recommend it.

The hotel itself is also very well maintained/decorated and was very clean. We had a lovely, relatively big room and our bathroom loooked newly refurbished - modern towel radiators etc. Both were spotless. The bed was large and we had very comfortable duvets and pillows. (These things are important!!) We had a tv which had channels in Polish, German, Italian, French and one in English (BBC world news). There was no coffee/tea making facilities tho, but the mini bar was vast, stocking most things and the hotel offers room service. However, although the hotel says the restaurant closes at 23:00 (so the room service too), it seems to open until then if there's business. We tried one night to get room service at about 22:00, but it was closed. The restaurant is lovely and serves good breakfasts - cooked and continental.

The only issue I had with the hotel was that on one of the nights I could hear some noise from what I can only assume was a near by bar. The windows are double-glazed, but obviously doesn't protect you from all noise, especially when you're quite central. If you like complete silence then staying central isn't for you.

Overall, we LOVED this hotel, especially the location. It was perfect for a city break. Have no reservations about booking this!!

Just got back from Krakow and stayed at the Hotel Senacki, all I can say is that this hotel is worth every penny. We stayed there for 2 nights and the room was very spacious with an excellent bathroom. They take great pride in cleanliness at this hotel and it is in a superb location from the main square and Royal castle.
The breakfast is superb and fresh and you can order hot food which is freshly cooked while you wait, the buffet table has everything that you could want.
The hotel is situated on Grotzka which is a very nice street with many old buildings and cafes close by. I would not hesitate to stay there again if I went back to Krakow.
