Be aware: apparently the cheating has a system! Bookings are not guaranteed even if guarateed by credit card!

We arrived later in the evening yesterday (July 21.) and were told that the room had been given away to some other guests - although we had made a guaranteed and confirmed booking more than 5 months ago. Was relocated to Hotel Kossak - a boring 70 ies concrete tower off the old town.

Quite obviously this was a scam and has a system. The apologies and explanations of the night poter were so eloquent (in our case it was a film team who desperately had to stay longer...) that he clearly was making it all up. Kossak and Senacki seem to be related and have flyers of each other at the reception desks.

Judging from the series of disrespected reservations it obviously is a regular practise to use bookings of Senacki to fill up Kossak which - though also a four star hotel - is a completely different style and format. And although we were supposedly " upgraded" we ended up in a suite in a dull modern hotel at a junction of two noisy streets instead of a cosy mid size old town hotel with charm.

Therefore be aware of not being taken hostage at a late summer holiday evening when there is simply no choice but to give in.

To me, this is not just a misdemeanour. It is poor treacherous business behavior. Out of principle one should not book neither Senacki nor Kossak for this blatant way of cheating individual travelers. I am even more angry since who were friendly enough to do a direct booking instead of going through HRS or Booking.com.

We stayed at Hotel Senacki for 3 nights earlier this month and I was thoroughly impressed with this hotel. We had a room on the top floor and had a sky light in the room which was great and yes it did close at night so we were not blinded in the morning. The room was nice and large with great carpeting a very nice bathroom.

The hotel is right on the main street that goes to the main square so you can walk to everything. The staff was friendly and very helpful with information. The breakfast was good and had plenty of options.

Overall we had an amazing time in Krakow and Hotel Senacki was the perfect choice for our stay.

Lovely hotel, staff extremely helpful and pleasant. Rooms were a really good size and very clean. Beds comfortable, and decor really nice. Had a lovely room facing the front of the street.
Location very good as within a few minutes walk to market square.

Breakfast was good with a choice of cooked to order foods as well which were very tasty.

There was a pub/cafe area downstairs but didnt get chance to try. Looked quite good though and reasonable prices.

Only major issue was with some street noise . The double glazing didnt seem to keep out the noise and late at night as its a pedestrian area people passing the hotel until early hours and you could hear this. Wasn't constant though and mostly only slight disturbance at night.

However there is a 24 hour supermarket selling alcohol near to the hotel On one occasion my husband saw through the window after being disturbed with the noise a couple of people looking quite drunk and one looked to be urinating in the doorway of the shop/bank next door I did mention this to the receptionist the next morning .That can happen anywhere however.

Other than that really enjoyed our stay due to the standard of the rooms and the helpful staff.

Dear “PRJ”,

It was our pleasure to receive your kind feedback. I am most pleased to hear that you had an enjoyable time with us. Unfortunately, our downtown location can mean extra street activity, as much as we try to contain it. We sincerely regret the disturbance of the noise. On your next visit, we would be happy to assign one of our inner courtyard-facing rooms.
Your review will encourage us all to continue on a high level that is expected from Hotel Senacki .

I hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again at our Hotel in the not too distant future.
Kind regards,

We stayed in the Senacki for a week during our houliday to the lovely Krakow. Our room was lovely, overlooking the main street meaning we could listen t the singing outside the church whilst having our late afternoon siesta. Beds very comfortable. great shower and good wifi, keeping our teenage son happy. Location is so central and easy to get back to. The staff are all wonderful and cannot do enough to help you, from arranging trips to providing an umbrella when it rained. I think this may be the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Have already recommended to our friends and would definalty stay again.

This is a nice enough hotel in a great location. However, when we arrived from Frankfurt at 3PM, we were told they did not have a room for us and we would have to stay at a sister hotel across town. How is this possible? We made these reservations months ago. A computer glitch. We only discovered last night. You booked through Orbitz and we didn't know how to contact you. The desk clerk was very sweet but could nothing for us. After much argument, and calls to a manager at the other hotel, they suddenly discovered that they had two single rooms at the Senacki that night and could move us to a double the next day. Why hadn't they offered that in the first place? No answer. I accepted but said I still wanted to speak to a manager. The next day I spoke with the manager which turned out to be an adding-insult-to-injury affair. The following day we were out sightseeing and returned to the hotel at 3PM. As we walked in I heard from the front desk which is immediately to the right of the entrance, "But why didn't you contact us?" I froze. What followed was a replay of our experience two days earlier: computer glitch, just discovered last night, didn't know how to contact you - the whole shebang. So this is an OK 3 star (definitely not 4 star) hotel. And while I realize that stuff happens and you have to flex sometimes, this was so deceitful and the management so abrasively hardnosed that we couldn't really enjoy our stay there.

Second stay for us at this hotel and as previously you can rely wholeheartedly on the staff giving you all the service you may need. Good location in the old town. Better wifi-connection this time (third floor). We will select this hotel for our next trip to Krakow.

Stayed at the Senaki for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The location is ideal, between the Square and the Castle - 5 minutes walk to each on a busy street with lots of little bars and restaurants close at hand.
When we arrived we were lucky enough to be given a suite which was superb and was the one used for adverts for the hotel and had an entrance hall, sitting room, bedroom and large bathroom although would have preferred a separate shower to one over the bath. Towels, soap, shampoo etc were renewed regularly.
Staff could not have been more polite or helpful, offering advice on where to go, where to eat and even giving us hotel umbrellas when it rained.
Breakfasts were OK with plenty of food on the cold buffet and orders of a variety eggs etc. available if wanted. What a shame that a party of 4 Germans thought it was compulsory to work their way through everything on the menu each morning. The dining room was rather small and it could be a little difficult to get round.
The hotel bar only opened at night and was very under used with slow service but there were much livelier places just round the corner.
I don't think that we could have found anywhere better to stay for our short sightseeing break.
