If you want to stretch your legs and want a view of Krakow this is a nice walk. You will find this on most of the tourist maps, the other side of the Jewish district.

The mound itself is set in a beautiful park making the walk very enjoyable. The spiral pathway up the mound is a very easy climb, the views back in to Krakow are really good. The walk from the pedestrian river bridge is also very pleasant through a nice residential part of Podgorze climbing away behind the imposing Chuch which leads to the bridge across the Motorway and Railway its then a pleasant zig zag walk up through the park to the mound. At the time we did it the Autumn colours were also amazingly beatutiful on the way there.

This is probably the nicest place in whole Krakow. Of course if you are rather outdoor type of a guy. It's a really place of great peace and tranquility.

The panoramic view onto the Krakow and its surroundings bathing in the sunset is one of the best experience you can ever have.

You simply walk to this man made hill. Its a very nice stroll from the old town across the river. There you could walk across the bridge where lovers show their affection for eachother in a very significant way. I am not going to spoil how, but it is really worth seeing. Then when keep on walking you will see a bigh church or Cathedral. Keep on walking and you will find a trail in the end of a road. That trail leads to church or whats left of it from St. benedict or similar. Apparently very old. You also see a fort or some military oldish construction, which is behind barbed wire or fences and you cannot approach. What you can do is keep on walking in kind of open wood and then out of the blue, krakus mound will appear in the horizone. You then just walk towards it from those paths. What you also could do is pay a taxi driver and drive all the way - but that would be less exciting. When you are there beaware that there are no safety railings, so be careful when going up, especially in autumn or winter - I have tried all seasons. The view is fantastic and if you are lucky you planned your trip to a day of clear water, and perhaps you brought yourself a drink or two to share with your travellingpartner. Have a drink, cheer the moon and the fantastic view.

You might find it strange but this is truly the best place in KRK. Located on the southern bank of the Vistula river in the Podgórze district it's the oldest handbuilt monument of the city, tribute to the legendary first rules of the city, prince Krak offers the best panoramic view of the city with all it's towers. Very mistical, monumental and atmospheric. It might be a little bit muddy when raining. Also nearby you might find the quarry (where Schindler's List was being shot in 1993), the (probably) oldest Krakovian Church of St. Benedict and unique piece of Austrian fortifications in form of Fort Benedict. Not to mention many green spaces. A little bit out of the main city centre, but certainly worth the climb. No entrance fee, just GO!
