“Five Nights in July 2014”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2014

The hotel is in a central location with a tram stop at the end of the block, equidistance from the Jewish District (Kazimierz) and the Main Square (Market Square) which are both within walking distance.
The staff was kind, approachable, and very knowledgeable. As I speak no Polish, I found it fortuitous that everyone in the hotel spoke English.
The rooms were clean and spacious; our room did not have air conditioning, if that is something you require, but there was an oscillating floor fan that provided a comfortable breeze most nights. The beds were firm and comfortable.
There are quite a few stairs to climb, but I think that is the norm in Europe; however, one of the staff kindly carried my bags up to my room on arrival.

So your visiting Krakow!

This place is in a great location, just a short walk to the old town and the Jewish district for all the sights and close proximity to the night life.

The rooms were very clean, great powerful shower with no shortage of hot water, beds were a little bit hard but nice big comfy pillows.

The hotel is located down a pretty quiet side street which looks a bit dodgy but is in fact completely fine. The building has lots of character and many of the original features . The rooms have high ceilings so are quite bright and airy. The only downfall is the sound seemed to travel through the hotel up the big hall way, so people coming in throughout the night got a bit noisy, so it's best to make sure you have some ear plugs (which I rarely travel without)

I didn't have breakfast, so can't comment on that. The food and drinks are so cheap around krakow that you don't feel like you need to book breakfast.

You also get plenty of water and soaps etc supplied to your room, there is someone always on reception who will go out their way to help you with anything

Also there are lots of steps all the way up, definitely not suitable for anyone who struggles with steps!

Room Tip: Try to get your room furthest from the big stairway hall as it's quite noisy.

I am happy to read that you enjoyed your visit while you were with us and that you liked our great central location as well as beds and shower. We are planning to do something with a noise, but we hope that it is not too inconvenient.

Great convenient location, halfway between the old town and jewish quarter. 15-20 minute walk to the train/bus station. Some people have mentioned it's in a dodgy area but I walked everywhere (on my own) and felt safe at all times. You are buzzed to get into the building.

Staff are extremely personable and helpful, with lots of local knowledge and restaurant recommendations. Credit to management for a great team. The hotel is central to many local restaurants, take the time to discover them, it's worth it!

I stayed in a single room (double room) on the first floor. Soundproofing isn't great, so if you don't sleep well, take ear plugs, but if you wear yourself out walking and discovering the town, you won't stay awake for long! Beds and pillows comfortable. Small bar fridge, kettle, tea and coffee also available. Water provided complimentary each day via housekeeping.

Good shower, good water pressure and hot water.

A wonderful stay, I'm so glad I discovered this little gem in the heart of Krakow.

Additional tips:
- for late night snacks, go to the blue van boys located 5 minutes walk away, on Grzegorzecka. Every night from 8pm, they cook sausages on an open wood grill. Served with bread roll and mustard. Delicious!
- go on as many walking tours as your feet can bear! (But beware there is a much higher quality company...don't be fooled into picking the dodgy one!), pick 'free walking tour' - they have an orange and white sign NOT Cracow walking tour.
- go to jewish quarter for a night of vodka fun, head to Trojkat (Central European Bistro Bar) on Jozefa for great selection unique vodkas and a great team behind the counter.
- head to Plac Nowy for food and fun!
- laundry (and bar) just near the hotel for those on a long trip.
- traditional milk bar just opposite.

Have fun! Krakow is a brilliant city. Loads to see and do.

Stayed as a party of 3 for 4 nights. Location - it's about a 15 minute walk from the old town square, which is ideal.

The room was clean, with towels and bottled water replaced daily. Felt secure - there was a safe in the room and reception was manned 24-hours.

Excellent facilities for the price, would stay again.

My friend and I just stayed here for 4 nights. We had a lovely stay at this hotel in Krakow. Was in a perfect place, great walking distance to the Jewish quarter and main market square! The hotel was clean, and the rooms were lovely and nicely decorated. Staff were very friendly and helpful too! Had no problems whatsoever. We organised trips with the hotel to Auschwitz and to the salt mine, and they were really well organised! Definitely recommend!

The Aparthotel Leone gets 5 stars from us too - we also stayed in an immaculately clean room with bottled water, comfortable beds and a great shower. Our room was exactly the same as shown in the brochure. Two single beds and a bed settee for our ten year old provided a great night's sleep. There were as many towels as we needed, soap, shampoo, hand lotion and a hairdryer. There was also a room safe, a refrigerator and air con.
The staff were unfailingly cheerful, professional and helpful. I managed to fall over a kerb the first night and the night staff quickly provided ice to try to minimise the damage to my face - thank you.
Room 301 was situated on the top floor but we managed the stairs easily. Internet access was great. The television showed BBC News.
Even though we arrived rather early, we were offered complimentary refreshments, with a smile, plus a safe place to store our bags. Breakfast was plentiful and unhurried with a hot option each day.
We easily walked to the main square, the Jewish Quarter (highlight meal at HAMSA, hummus & happiness) and the railway station in this beautiful city.

Well done Aparthotel Leone.

Room Tip: Do not be put off by the lack of a lift if you are fit and healthy. Room 301 faced the rear of the...

Thank you for your warm and enthusiastic opinion! Sometimes the most difficult task is to take the compliments so you basically made us speechless. Being called a 'gem' of Kraków, city full of beauty and wonders, is the greatest thing the staff of the hotel could hear. Thank you for appreciating our hard work in making our guests' stay pleasent and unforgettable. It means a lot to us and it gives us motivation for further efforts. Leone Aparthotel is indeed lucky to be located in the very centre of the city, yet in a rather remote corner of the street providing peace and good night sleep. We would be more than happy to host you again in the future.

I stayed with my grandmother so the stairs were slightly inconvenient but the staff were quick to offer help and we got a bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival all staff said hello and made you feel welcome. Her only gripe was the floorboards which could do with sanding and polishing as it did affect the finish of the room.
