Stayed here for three nights midweek in March 2006 to coincide with a visit to Auschwitz .

Wonderful hotel, pleasant staff, lovely room, nice food, good value also (although maybe not for Krakow).

Great location, comfy rooms, excellent service and the most helpful and accommodating staff we’ve ever come across. Yes, The Sheraton has it all! If you want to feel special, pampered...this is the place. The hotel is immaculate (even the cleaning staff are outstanding!) There wasn't anything, hand on heart that we could complain about. Even the view from our room was breathtaking, it overlooked of the River Wilsa, used by numerous film directors as a scenic backdrop. Wawel castle is close by, a few minutes walk away from the hotel and could be seen from our room.

The concierge, Monika was charming and very friendly as were the rest of the reception staff. Our visit was part of our Silver wedding celebration and on our arrival; complementary champers and chocolate covered strawberries were delivered to our room.

The breakfast was a feast (buffet) of everything from full cooked English breakfast, cold meats and cheeses, pancakes, cereals, juices, bread rolls...you name it... delicious.

Krakow is everything and more that we expected, the beautiful old buildings, the atmosphere is second to none and the people are very friendly. Lastly, you must visit the Cloth hall , I have never in my life seen so much amber, unbelivable.

We had a wonderful time,

All I can say is, I want to go back.

What can I say, this hotel is beautiful, excellent service, large rooms very well furnished. The staff are are very efficient and friendly while never intrusive. Its a little expensive but worth the money for a special treat.
Great experience and this is a hotel that really has the best standards.

We stayed at the Sheraton Krakow over New Years. The hotel was lovely, well situated and professionally run. We asked for a deluxe room with a view and although I would have preferred a room facing the river, the side few of the castle was still nice and the room quiet. The toiletries in the bathroom were nice and the slippers provided were really comfortable as usually they are a one size fits all.

The Atrium was beautiful and breakfast in the morning was very pleasant. There was a large assortment of pastries, fruit, cereals and breads along with all the standard hot breakfast dishes. The staff were all very professional especially the concierge team who went out of their way to make sure our needs were taken care of.

The location of the hotel was perfect for us. I always like to be close enough but not right in the middle of all of the action, this way you have a choice of when you want to be in the centre of things. It was a very pleasant 10 – 15 minute walk into the Market square and an easy walk to the castle. On our second day we took a tour of Auchwitz with Krakow Tours which we arranged with the concierge. The tour was really good and although the subject matter hard going – it is something that we all know about but can’t appreciate until you have been there. I suggest this as a must see!

As it was New Years – there was a hotel requirement that all guests staying on Dec 31st had to attend the New Years Eve Ball. The cost of the tickets were 800 PLN ($290) each. For this you got a wonderful selection of food, an open bar, a great band, a beautifully decorated venue and a fantastic firework display through the Atrium window. The ticket price was high but when we started investigating alternative restaurants around the Market Square they were mainly cheaper but did not offer the many things that we were going to get at the Sheraton. Plus it seemed to make sense that we could get all dressed up and only had to walk downstairs for the event. We were told that we would be sitting at a table of other nationalities although all were English speaking which was great as we did not speak Polish. We had been assured too by the concierge that no children were allowed as there had been an issue with this the previous year. We do not have children and though we like them in small doses we did not feel that an expensive and lavish New Years Eve Ball was the right place for them. It was to our horror when shortly after we started eating that four young children under the age of 7 arrived at our table to sit with their parents. The parents never asked us if it was alright, they just assumed it was their right to have them join us. We immediately complained to the manager on duty who said that there was nothing they could do (although these particular people had been told not to bring children already) – but they did offer us another table in the ballroom away from all of the activity. Although this room was nice – we were then on a table on our own and it was not what we had paid for as we had paid to be in the Atrium. Needless to say we tried not to let this spoil our evening but it did seem unfair that we were the ones forced to suffer.

We checked out fine the next day but on our return home we did write to both the hotel manager and Sharwood Hotels (of which Sheraton Krakow belong). The manager wrote back almost immediately apologising for any inconvenience that we may have suffered and agreeing that children should not be allowed to attend and that they would make every effort to rectify the problem next year. He then offered us compensation on our ticket price along with a goodwill gesture. We were very appreciative of this offer and it proved that the Sheraton Krakow is a very well run and professional hotel.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for your trip
to Krakow. It maybe a little more expensive than some of the others – but it is definitely worth it.

Having read other reviews we can whole heartedly agree that this hotel excels in many ways. Although the place was busy on our first night due a large party occupying virtually the whole hotel we were informed of this before hand. On arrival we were upgraded to a suite in a quiet part of the hotel and benefitted from the luxuries that come with this. As a pleasant surprise we had a large platter of fresh fruit delivered to our room.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful - service was faultless.
The Olive restaurant was slightly more expensive than some local venues but was pleasant and the food of a good standard.
Breakfast was excellent.
If returning to Krakow will definately stay here again.
