We have just returned from a most wonderful three day break at the Hotel Sheraton to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived( in the car arranged for us by the hotel) we were given the most courteous and friendly service. Our room was a delight with views over the river and the hotel management had provided a free bottle of champagne and roses to add to the sense of romance on this special occasion. We ate in both the restaurant (on the first night) and the adjoining bar -in fact we were able to order from the restaurant menu whilst sitting in the lounge bar and relaxing to the nightly piano music. Don't be put off by the restaurant prices (there is a wide range of reasonably priced dishes as well as more expensive ones) the food is excellent and suberbly presented. The hotel is clean and bright, the atmosphere very relaxing and the staff professional, respectful and friendly - all in all it was the best hotel we have stayed in in recent years.

Four of us (2 couples) stayed at the Sheraton Krakow over Easter for 5 nights. We had the most fantastic stay. From the minute we arrived we were made feel so welcome at the hotel. Checkin was very quick and efficient. Our rooms were great. My husband and myself were on the first floor with a view across the river and our friends were on the 3rd floor with a view to the castle. The rooms had everything you could want fluffy bathrobes, slippers, cable tv, internet access, iron and ironing board, 'proper' hairdryer, etc. The bed was so comfortable.

The hotel has a large atrium under which is situated the Olive Restaurant, where we were served the most tasty breakfast every morning, everything you could possibly want to eat. We never ate in the restaurant in the evening. However we did eat at the Sports Bar which serves American type fare, very good. We also ended every evening at Qube the hotel's lounge bar which served fab cocktails and you could also get snacks, coffee, etc. It was a great place to people watch. The staff at the hotel were so friendly and really made the difference.

We booked the hotel car for our trip to and from the airport and I would recommend this. We also booked the hotel car for our trip to Auschwitz-Birkeneau, as this is a long and very moving day it was a personal way to do the trip. We also went on an organised trip to the Salt Mines which was an enjoyable afternoon. We did a lot of walking and would recommend you take comfortable shoes. We would also recommend the golf buggy tour, good fun and a great way to see areas you might miss otherwise. The castle is stunning even in a snow blizzard! There are lots of cafes, bars and restaurants and we found the food everywhere very good and reasonably priced. A real treat is Zsara Restaurant on the main square. We did find over Easter Krakow to be very very quiet but by the end of the week the square was full of life, we would go back at a different time of year.

All in all we had a wonderful time. Yes the Sheraton Krakow is a large chain hotel and I am sure Krakow has some lovely hotels with more character and it is a bit more expensive, but we all just loved the Sheraton, a home from home, and if we ever go back to Krakow we will definitely stay there.

We loved this hotel from the minute we arrived. Wonderful location, very spacious, spotlessly clean. Staff are friendly, helpful and speak perfect English. The room had everything we needed and more, including an ice machine on each floor.

The breakfast was delicious, with lots of choice.

We also ate in the hotel restaurant on one evening and it was top class.

I can't recommend this hotel enough and I would definitely stay here again on any return to Krakow.

We have just returned from Krakow after a 4 day trip. The Sheraton hotel is excellent. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The room we stayed in no 259 was spacious warm and clean. The bed was huge and very comfortable with lovely feather and down pillows, these can be changed if required. The bathroom was spotless and shower hot and powerful. We were asked if we wanted an upgrade to have a view to be honest there is no need to do this as there really isnt much to see and therefore not worth paying extra for. Now the breakfasts were just unbelievable. Every nationality is catered for and if you eat well at breakfast you will not need to eat again until the evening. Take your time and enjoy the surroundings and the try the different foods eg cheese/hams /sweet pasties etc. You can also ask to have anything made to order eg omelette/poached/fried egg. The best breakfast we have ever had.
The Qube and Some Place Else are also excellent eating places with lovely surroundings and again wonderful staff.
We booked a car from the hotel(by email prior to the trip) to pick us up from the airport and also a return journey costing 80PLN each way. No doubt you will meet friends and then share the costs.Drivers very friendly and worth tipping.
When we were there the weather was dry but very cold as expected so bring gloves hat and scarf. Be careful walking around as the pavements as some places have gaping holes and the cobble stones can be sore on the feet(comfie shoes recommended)
We booked a driver from the hotel to Auswitch and shared the cost with friends approx130PLN. He will take you to Auswitch 1 and will wait and then take you on to Auswitch/Birkenau This was really the purpose of our trip and a must for everyone to see. It is worthwhile reading up about it before you go(Who does'nt know?) Unless you want to hear statistics and detailed stories of human misery just experience the place yourself and leave the tours alone.Leave a full day for this as it is exhausting in every respect.
All in all a good trip and if we can we will use the Sheraton again.

I have been to Krakow before and stayed in apartments (also nice try affinity flats if you want an apartment) but this time were going with friends so wanted a hotel. The Sheraton is superb. The hotel itself is large and around a 15 minute walk from the old square (about £3 in a taxi).

What makes the hotel so special are their staff who are attentive to your every need without making you feel smothered they are just there when you need them and their customer service is outstanding.

I was a little dissapointed with the view from my room which was an executive as it looked out on to wasteland with a little view of the castle but this was the only dissapointment. The bed was very comfortable the bathroom amazing with a shower to really get your blood pumping.

Breakfast was brilliant with a huge selection including Bucks Fizz at the weekend. I normally don't eat breakfast but it was so tempting I dived in.

We ate at the some place else bar one lunchtime which was brilliant and if you want to catch any kind of sport in Krakow you will find it there on one of their many screens. Qube the vodka bar does amazing cocktails and we spent time there each night before we went out. Be aware though it closes very promptly at 1am and no ammount of pursuassion financial or otherwise will extend closing time.

Krakow is a superb place I reccomend Chimeria if you are eating out it is a fantastic restaurant off the old square. Also if you are at the Sheraton on the weekend make sure you sign up for their Sunday Lunch an incredibly economic all you can eat (outstanding quality) buffet with free drinks and a jazz band it was packed when we were there.

Not often I enjoy a hotel as much as this and I travel a lot with work if you go to Krakow I don't think you could go wrong with the Sheraton.

The Sheraton in Krakow is in a lovely location overlooking the river and next to the castle. We upgraded our room (for approx £10 per night) and had a great view. It was approximately 5-10 mins walk from the old town centre but in a very quiet area. It cost around 65 zl to get from the airport to the hotel by taxi.

The rooms were large and clean and the maid service was quiet and discreet. There was a full toilet kit provided and bathrobes and even an ironing board. There was tea & coffee facilities available in the room. The bed was very comfortable!

The breakfast was a superb selection of hot and cold meats, cheese, pastries, eggs, pancakes, cereal, fruit etc which was great. My only complaint was the staff were a little too efficient and managed to clear away our plates while we had gone up to get juice and came back and the table had been reset!

The receptionist staff were rather business-like and brusque but otherwise helpful.

The pool was small and quite shallow but great for just a relaxing dip in the evening.

We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant (it seemed very expensive!) except for breakfast, but we did have a few drinks in the bar (which has a HUGE selection of vodkas to try) and also drank one evening in the sports bar next door which was great for watching the 6 Nations!

I stayed at the Sheraton for 3 nights with 10 friends from 01-04 March. The service at this hotel was excellent, from Reception to the staff in the lobby bar/restaurant! The beds were so comfy.
The Sports bar in the hotel was handy for a quick snack, but compared to some of the fantastic places we ate, it was a little
more expensive. We ate at Aqua e Vino, a really excellent Italian, and Roberto greeted us with a glass of sparkling wine (it was my birthday)- nice little touch. The hotel had also left a cake in my room!! Hotel also reccomended Ancora - another really good place to eat - mixture of Polish, Mediterranean, Italian - a nice mix.
The Shearaton was in a good location, 10 minutes walk to the main market square. Overall our visit to Krakow was great, hotel was top class, our guides Kuba and Tomak and where we ate were all excellent. Definitely would go back and definitely would stay again in the Sheraton
