“Excellent hotel for the price paid”
Reviewed February 15, 2014 via mobile

My wife and I visited Krakow for the first time and obtained a very good deal with Auschwitz tour included. Although the hotel requires a little updating, the value for money and service we received was excellent. We had a huge room which had its own lounge and separate TV and 2 bathrooms. Buffet breakfasts were also very good.

English speaking receptionists were all very helpful. We used the trams to get into Krakow and they are frequent and good value. We used the spa and jacuzzi which was very good, especially as were able to frolic in there on our own as the hotel was nearly empty!

For the price paid, this hotel is excellent and highly recommended.

On the outskirts of Krakow but taxi travel is very cheep as long as you pick a licensed taxi and not a private one. Most 20 min journeys cost about 20zl which is about £5, the private taxi will cost you double so ask before you get in. All very friendly about it though. The Cheaper taxis have a price list on one of the windows. Anyway cheep to get about. The hotel is near a huge tesco and right next to trams. Nothing much to look at around the hotel but that did not matter to us.
Rooms quite big, clean and comfortable. No noise problems. Staff very helpful and very friendly. Buffet breakfast is good and you can get a very nice meal from midday until 11pm. We had 3 course meal with drinks for about 100zl about £25-£35 depending on how much you drink. We quite often sat on a sofa in the bar drinking probably the best coffee I have ever had.
There are lots of trips that you can book through the hotel and they will organise transport to and from airport ,which would be much cheaper for you than booking it through your trip operator. It's a very friendly and helpful hotel so don't be afraid to contact them about anything you may nee. We had a lovely time and would go back. Did not use the spa so can not comment but the prices looked good.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor, lift good. Free wifi in lounge area on ground floor and the first floor,ab...

Booked this hotel through Easyjet holidays certainly not disapointed greeted by very friendly staff and also very helpful nothing to much trouble room comfortable and restaurant menu good. Spa offers a varied choice of treatments and massages by a very professional staff all in all a excellant stay. Although this hotel is out of the city trams are frequent no 52 & 18. Recommend this hotel to anyone

I have very mixed feeling about the hotel, I will start with the negatives and then give you the positives.

Firstly upon arrival although requested prior to arrival we were given double rooms which is incorrect, we emailed and advised we require twin rooms (this was sorted later however should have never occurred), upon getting into room 207 my fiancé found her bed linen to burnt by that appeared to be a cigarette (which was later changed, but the cleaners should be checking this). The beds didn't have their bed lining changed daily, this I was surprised at (we know this due to a small stain on one of the beds sheets being there until we left)

Spa... Well first not opening until 12pm is poor, some people like an early morning dip in the pool, also the majority of the visit the Jacuzzi was either out of order or not working correctly, also the in pool lighting was faulty and some of the under water lighting kept going on and off. Also on more than one occasion we went to the front desk and there was nobody there, so we just went in. The dressing gowns have no ties and upon asking reception was advised 'none of them do' surely if your going to offer spa facilities you'd at least have dressing gowns which stay closed...

Most evening the restaurant was empty, I think this is due to several factors, firstly the pricing, I feel your prices for food is rather expensive for what you actually get. Also the staff don’t seem overly attentive, for example they should come and ask if everything is ok but this didn’t happen.

Now the positives:
The reception and room staff are very friendly and responded well to our requests, The rooms are very clean and spacious, the wifi is good (although I would recommend allowing access across the whole hotel. The prices for the spa are good for the extra products and the staff when we saw them were very friendly and initially gave us a tour.
The food is very nice (if not somewhat overpriced), the safe in the room is a good idea, and I like the bathrooms, they are well laid out and clean.

My recommendations:
I would start firstly by fixing the lights in your hotel sign on the roof, first impressions are very important and driving to the hotel I noted that one of the stars light didn’t work and also on the hotel name, a light was out. Next I would brighten the reception area as all the dark wood is nice but could do with a splash of colour or additional lighting. I would also recommend as previously mentioning making the wifi accessible across the hotel (this is a good selling point if it’s accessible in the rooms). Next your beds, I know on the continent fitted sheets are not as common however most of the complaints on Trip Advisor are in relation to bed sheets coming off during the night which is what we all experienced while staying also.
I would also look at the possibility of offering discounts on meals in your restaurant for quests staying at the hotel, We ate at the restaurant on 2 occasions other than for breakfast and where the only 4 people in the dining area.
I think a modernisation of the rooms would be of benefits with for example new flat screen TV’s (with more variety of channels) and docking stations in the rooms instead of those old and out dated radios built into the bed side draws, I also think that having a kettle in each room (say for example in the cupboard for use by the guest) would also be good.

Room Tip: Higher rooms further from the road obvious choice

Enjoyed an excellent, comfortable 3 night stay in the Sympozjum. The hotel is situated away from the main tourist attractions in the centre but the location just isn't an issue with the reliable tram system. It takes 10 mins to get into the centre of Krakow on tram 52 or 18 and the tram stop for the hotel (Grota Roweckiego) is a 1 minute walk. Remember to validate your ticket using the yellow machines once on board!

The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. We arrived over 2 hours early and got into our room no problem. They provided a map and instructions about how to get to Auschwitz and the salt mines at Wieliczka for us. We asked for extra pillows - brought up 5 mins later. They even looked up the times and costs of the trains back to the airport.

The rooms were pretty good for a budget 4 star. There were no adjoining doors between rooms, the shower and bathroom was better than ours at home (!) and the double bed was big and comfy. I'm a light sleeper and I slept like a log all 3 nights.

The breakfast was the usual buffet style favoured on the continent - plenty of cold meat, pastries and bread. There was also cereal, tea, eggs etc. Nice spacious dining area.

If you're just after a hotel to use as a base to explore the Krakow area, I can't recommend this enough.

Room Tip: Get on the third floor if you can.

Very nice hotel and comfortable room, a bit on the warm side but lovely. Staff very friendly and helpful. Quite a distance from the main square but quite accessible by the number 52 tram which are quite frequent. Would recommend this hotel

Stayed for 2 nights in November, The hotel arranged pick up from the airport for 90Pln (About 20quid)
Welcomed us and explained breakfast time. Break was plentyful and vaired. Staff were poliet and helpful gave us maps and directions. The rooms were clean, Comfy, a little old fashioned but good value for the discounted price we payed. We upgraded to a spa room before arriving... though we wasnt sure what this meant, We found out half way through that it ment we were aloud unlimited free access to the sauna, We only spent 10mins in there, Polands sauna and jacuzzi standard is naked, a little too much flesh for me. We got massages, as it was a Spa hotel. Their Restaurant was very cheap - but compared to english, pretty standard compared to polish. The only down said is that the hotel is a little too far from the centre, 30-45min walk, though the tran is very close by, so only takes 10mins by tram.
