If you are planning on using this hotel for spending time in Krakow itself, then I would only recommend it if you have a car and don't mind commuting for an hour or so each day - and don't want to partake of any of the "night life" in Krakow. We (two couples traveling together) had checked out the reviews on tripadviser beforehand and decided to stay one night in Krakow itself (Krakow Sheraton), and then spend three nights at the Palace. We went to Wieliczka after checking out of Krakow and on our way to the Palace. We then used the Palace as a base to take day trips to Zakapane and the Tatra mountains, Auschwitz, Wadowice and Kalawaria Zebrzydowski. It was off-season, with cold, often wet weather, so there were only a few other guests in the hotel while we were there. Since there were no guests next to us, I don't know how well the rooms are really soundproofed, but it was extremely quiet for us. We stayed in deluxe chamber rooms. Both were extremely spacious, large jacuzzi in a corner of the main room, separate shower in large bathroom. Our friends' room was a little nicer than ours (newer carpet, chair railing and wallpaper on walls, large comfortable bed). We had two beds in our room (which we requested). The mattress on one bed being newer and very comfortable - while the other was pretty soft and a little 'lumpy". Since the temperature outside was seldom higher than 5 C, the temperature in the rooms were quite comfortable with the room heating (so, of course, we had no issues with air conditioning, as mentioned elsewhere). We were the only ones at breakfast the first morning. They brought each couple a small tray with meats, cheeses, tomatoes, etc. at the table and then also cooked eggs and sausages for us. The next day, the were a few more guests, so the buffet table was set with tomatoes, salad, breads, yogurt, cereals, cold cuts, cheeses, etc. My only complaint about breakfast was that the were no fruits at all - only orange and current (?) juice. It would be nice to have some sort of fresh or canned fruits available, especially since we were there for three days. We had a late "lunch" in the restaurant the first day and then had dinner there all three nights. Meals ranged from very good to excellent. It was surprising how many different selections were available, considering how few guests actually were in the hotel and dining there while we were present. The hotel itself has been nicely restored and is in a lovely location. I would imagine that this would be an excellent place for a nice get-a-way in the summer. However, the most gratifying part of our stay was due to the graciousness, hospitality and friendliness of the staff. Thanks again everyone. We also enjoyed our private wine tasting - great setting in the wine 'cellar', but a little chilly that evening! We had no problems with getting to the hotel using our GPS, but without a GPS or excellent local map, it might not be the easiest place to find - which I think, adds to it's charm. We did not go into the annex, so cannot make any comments about it. To sum it all up - quiet, beautiful surroundings; free WiFi; free parking; free breakfast; very reasonably priced rooms; good meals at reasonable cost; EXCELLENT service -- we were extremely pleased with our stay here.

Room Tip: Chamber rooms are the best

We were booked to stay here for three nights and checked out after one night. We travelled with three children aged 9,8 and 5. It was raining and cold, so none of the 'outdoors' facilities were available to us - pools not heated so even brazen kids couldn't use it. Table tennis was a saviour. We had no car. Taxi from airport took 40mins, taxi back to Krakow the following day took 55mins (cost about £35). Mini buses are useless; bus at around 7:30am then at 11:00 last return from Krakow at 2:00pm. You have to eat in restaurant, closest village 2km walk, can get boring. We booked family package - jacuzzi bath included BUT bath in the bedroom - not great with 3 kids staying there too. No playground for children. Granted beautiful countryside, flowers in room, helpful staff but as I said not for you if you have kids, don't have a car and it's raining. It is NOT close to Krakow without a car. There are far more interesting and beautiful places to stay close by to Krakow - I am British but my parents are from Poland so I know the country. Despite losing our money we checked out to save our holiday.

We attended a wedding on 28th August 2010 and must say it absolutely exceeded our expectations. All rooms were large and clean, service outstanding and food so delicious and so much of it!!! We had best time in ages, also visiting Cracow that is about 20 mins away. Thank you so much for making our stay so magical.

The hotel is distanced from the centre of Krakow but offers wonderful green surroundings and upscale accomodation. The staff was nice and helpful. In the hotel`s main part were spacious chambers and in the hotel annex comfortable double rooms both offering generous accomodation. The reasonable rates, great breakfast and excellent service only confirmed the impression of this grand hotel. Will definetely go again!
