“A very good base for Krakow visit”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

This Hotel, 20 min stroll from Krakow centre, quicker by tram, was very good in all aspects.
Room was good and service was excellent in the restaurant and bars.
The food was excellent in the evening and very good value.
The drinks were very fairly priced.
Down-side is they cannot make morning tea?????(no "hot" water)
Reception service was excellent in every respect and very helpful for organising a Salt Mine Tour.

just had 4 days here for my wifes birthday and the only thing I could complain about is that they dont take euros. Its there loss because on our last day I would have spent some money in the bar on food and drink but couldnt cos the exchange was closed and they wouldnt take euros.apart from that its a fabulous hotel.its clean friendly and well positioned about 1 mile from krakow square. I wouldnt recommend upgrading to get tea/coffee facilities as someone suggested.the standard rooms are fine and we took a travel kettle!cheaper than paying 10 euros a night for an upgrade.the food was generally quite good (same every morning but well cooked and adequate.) unfortunately theres nowhere to eat in the area around the hotel so we generally ate in the square.theres some great pubs and plenty of pizzarias etc.we did have a burger in the hotel bar (which again was well cooked and presented) so finally I would definately recommend staying here its well worth the money.

Room Tip: ask for a room away from the lifts as that was the only noise we heard.

we checked in a standard room but upgraded to superior room upon arrival , for just a little more per night the standard room was fine but had no tea making facilities. the reception stafff were very helpful and our whole experience at the chopin was good. we ate in the restaurant in the evening and food was lovely. would recommend and would stay there again .The only negative thing was that the room was very warm at night.and we had to sleep with window open.for some of the night. .

we stayed from 20th march til 25th march half board, the staff were very friendly especially Barbara, the room was awful small but clean, the 1st day the dinner was excellent but it just went downhill after that, some of it we couldnt stomach at all .,awful by the last day,the breakfast was good.no tea facilities in the rooms but our biggest fault was the horrific noise by all the young people school tours coming and going shouting all hours of the night we complained but no body listened we had no sleep for 3 nights,by the last night we had enough we just wanted to get home to ireland a.s.a.p.if you dont mind noise then your okay to stay here, its a 10 min walk to the town, we walked everywhere we didnt use the trams.i used the leisure facilities and they were good,in the last 6 mths we have been to rome and prague and cracow,

Room Tip: look for a quiet room away from the young people we stayed in room 234 the floor where they all were

this was our first time in Poland. The hotel is about 15-20 minutes walk to the old town but you do pass some lovely buildings and parks on the way to the old town. We were greeted at reception as if we had been coming there for a long time. The room was spotless. Big enough for 2 people. We had a meal in the hotel our first night and it was one of the best meals we have ever eaten. It was tasty and presented very well and also it was reasonably priced. Prices in the hotel equivelant to prices in England. Would recommend this hotel to friends and family and would certainly stay there again.
Staff were very helpful, happy, polite and very smart. You were always greeted with a smile.

Stayed for 4 nights in March and enjoyed it very much. We had arrived on an early morning flight and although check-in is 2pm we were given rooms immediately. The bed rooms were spotless as were the bathrooms. Indeed the whole hotel is the same. All the staff were pleasnt and helpful. The breakfast was lovely. Personally I loved their Danish Pastry but all of us ate more than we should have!! It's about 15 min walk to main sq and about 10mins to a large shopping mall (serious retail therapy!). We found eating out and shopping much cheaper than in the Uk. Trips to Auschwitz/Birkenau etc not to be missed. Plenty to do and see in Krakow people were very friendly a really enjoyable trip.:-)
