“Holocaust memorial.”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

I've never seen a cemetery like it. This fantastic cemetery holds a memorial for the Holocaust victims, so it's great for anyone who is interested in this. Also contains some amazing tombs, crypts and very grand Graves and head stones as well as war Graves. This cemetery is beautifully maintained and peaceful. Definitely worth visiting while in Krakow.

“Touching night at the cemetery on All Saint's Day”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

While visiting a cemetery is probably not at the top of a tourist's list of things to do in a new city, Krakow provides the exception. Poland has a long history of honoring one's deceased loved ones on All Saint's Day with families flocking to cemeteries with grave decorations that include elaborate flower arrangements and candles to light at night. I was lucky to visit this cemetery (easily reachable by tram No. 2 from the city center) on All Saint's Day weekend, and I was amazed at the crowds flocking to it with flowers and candle arrangements to pay their respects. Seemingly thousands of candles lit the cemetery grounds, and it was almost completely silent although many people were there. The cemetery would be an interesting place to visit even outside of All Saint's Day.

“Beautiful Cemetery”
Reviewed May 7, 2014

We had a very nice weather when we went in April to visit the Commonwealth War Graves and spent far longer than anticipated wandering round this fair sized cemetery (100 acres). Cemeteries are not for everyone but this one is well worth a visit and was very colourful with all the flowers and lanterns and there are a lot of old large tombs, which are a work of art.

“Pope John Paul II's family...”
Reviewed February 7, 2014

are buried here. Both sides of his family...the Wojkyta and the Kaczorowscy families. His brother that died in 1932 is here. The Pope would visit here each time he was back in Krakow.
