We spent time here everyday over the last 3 days here in Krakow. A local person recommend we explore this area to get a feel for the 'real' Krakow and it certainly didn't disappoint. This area is full of amazing eateries, bars and coffee shops. We had the famous zapiekanka here (a classic local baguette-pizza thing) as well as the less well known maczanka (pulled pork sandwich), both are well worth trying if you like local street food. I recommend the free Walkative Street Tour of the area and have also reviewed that, it was excellent. If you're in Krakow make sure you at least come here for a few hours it's really interesting and delicious :)

Informative and interesting Jewish Quarter tour for around 2.5 hours with Damien from Krakow Explorers. It started from the Market Square in the Old Town and ended in the Ghetto across the river. He gave us a lot of information as well as several tips on interesting things to do on your own. Would surely recommend this tour to get an idea of the Jewish Quarter.

Visited twice. First time by accident, second time as well on my way to Oscar Schindler's factory. Can't even imagine how much suffering those buildings remember. Strong place to visit.

Have visited Krakow many times now over recent years. It is an amazing city with plenty to see and do. It is steeped in history and has many historical, Cultural and architectural sites to visit.

Visit the central square which is home to the 16thc Cloth hall now housing numetous market stalls selling many homemade crafts. St Mary's Basillica also sits on tbe edge of the square. This amazing Gothic Church with its 2 towers is richly decorated and people of any or no religion would be in awe of its internal decoration.

There are many bars, restaurants and cafe's the surround the square. All offering a vast choice of meals.

However our favourite area to stay and eat out in is the old Jewish quarter (Kazimierz district) Which is dotted in quaint bars and restaurants that pull you back in time. Its probably the most characteristic area of the city. You'll definitely fall in love with it's amazing atmosphere.

There is so much to see here in Krakow. Apart from the tours to Auschwitz and the Salt mines. There is Wawel Castle a numver of stunningly decoarated churches/ synagogues all steeped in history. Take a buggy ride arould the city. The full tour lasts an hour and a half but was well worth it.

I've just returned from Krakow last week, but have booked again to go in December for our 1st Christmas Market. Fingers crossed that Covid19 won't affect our visit.

Read about the history of this quarter first. It is really interesting.
Then go by bike or on foot and discover the entire neighborhood. There is more to it then just the main square and the stara.
