“must see”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

We visited there by a free walking tour at first. They suggested us to come back again in that evening and we did so. It was so exciting in the evening with lots of pubs, bars and resturants.
After that we came back everyday during our visit from krakow.

“An interesting and moving experience”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

Kazimierz is a must location if you want to know something about Poland history and especially the history of the Poland Jews.
We took a private guided tour with an excellent guide - Dr. Ewa Wegrzyn from the institute of Jewish studies.she studied the history of Jews in Poland and she know how to tell it in a very interesting way.
You can visit some synagogues and see where some of the scenes of Steven Speilbrerg film - Shindler's list - was filmed.
I think it's best to see the movie before you come to get the background and then to take a guided tour to get the full experience of this interesting neighborhood. You can also taste some traditional Jewish dishes in one of thr restaurants in the neighborhood .

“A bit run-down”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

The Jewish Quarter was 'evacuated' by the Nazis of Jews 70 years ago across the river to Pogorze and it feels like the last time they did any building maintenance...

A generally run-down 'bohemian' area with more than a few drunk Poles hanging around the streets in broad daylight.

Not that it is terrible, just not much to see really and the main Plac Nowy and Ul. Szeroka were filled with golf cart tours & girls outside the restaurants all touting for your business constantly which spoilt it.

A bit out of town but well worth a look. Full of history and atmosphere. Lots of interesting shops and buildings.

“Beautiful location - take a tour!”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

The Jewish District was always on our list of things to do when visiting Krakow, and we set out with the original plan of walking their. However, we quickly realised that it would probably be too far in total, so decided to here an electric buggy tour that would take us there. This was an excellent decision. The very friendly guide gave us an insight into the area we would not have known on our own, and stopped at famous locations, giving us time to look around and take photos. Available in all languages, the tour track added to the experience of learning this areas history. All in all, I would thoroughly recommend taking a carted tour of the area, and even going on to visit the nearby ghettos.
