Easy to reach to from the airport. There is a free shuttle waiting outside the airport to train station, single ticket cost 15 zloty, return ticket 23 zloty. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the train station and the Old Town is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The twin room is comfortable but the only down side is that there are no coffee/tea facilities in the room.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a double room with tea/coffee facilities also request room at the back of hotel due to no...

I suspect that only those of you who have visited the hallowed streets of Krakow and the other fine cities of Poland will get my title. I had tasted the sights and sounds of Krakow before and stayed in the understated yet comfortable and welcoming Wyspianski Hotel without offering a review.

The years have been kind and upgrades and modernisation has kept the hotel relevant and fashionable. The rooms are fine with the occasional upgraded shower on the wish list. The important thing I suppose is that the water that comes out of the damp end is hot. It is. The TV works and the rooms are cleaned every day, if you like.

The value of the Wyspianski is not in question and 4 nights over a weekend period only set me back about £22 a night B&B. This was as the window end of a twin room. Question is, with such great sights to see and fun to be had in the Old Town, why stay in the hotel??

Krakow is a joy and finding a bar in Grodansk (street off the main Rynek Glowny) that charges you a quite ludicrous and liver challenging 3.5 PL a 0.5 litre of local Beer (thats about 75p my friends) certainly sets you up for the day. Infact you could find yourself sitting there listening to MTV for hours. We did. This tends to be the tasty Tyskie or the Magic Marka lager (get the headline now??)

There is food here and plenty of it. Cabbage is served with just about everything and can be tasty but not always. I tried to avoid food, kind of. it's not the highlight of Poland. If you like steaks and ribs, head for the "Yummie Restaurant" in Rynek Glowny. Great value and only a wee bit of cabbage.

Can I recommend both the Wyspianski Hotel and Krakow as a city. Marvellous.

Have just returned from 3 night break from the hotel. The location is 10 minutes walk away from train and bus station and 5 minute walk in to the centre, where there are lot of bars and eating places that are cheap. Hotel was very clean and staff very helpful. breakfast is buffet and is served from 7 to 11clock every day which does get busy but tables are cleaned and made up very quickly. Next door to hotel is a tour company, which we did the Auschwitz for 130soloty coach picked us up from hotel and had a guide with us for whole trip and they dropped us off at hotel, well worth the money! I would be very happy to stay there again

Have just returned from 2 nights at the hotel and found it very good. The location is good -ten minutes walk from the main train station and with trams running in front.
The staff were very helpful-I emailed before we travelled to enquire about visiting Auschwitz and was informed that it could be booked by the hotel.
We booked b&b -my only complaint would be that there could have been a little less cheese on the breakfast menu and cereals could have been included. I didn't miss my full English!
There are lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance and eating out is very cheap!

Will definitely return as we did not get to see Schindler's factory or the Salt Mine.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the back to avoid traffic noise!

You get what you pay for, in this case the Wyspianski out did every other hotel in its class. I was amazed by its location, just a five min walk from the main square. The hotel, although basic, has all you need, exceptionally clean rooms, and a huge choice for breakfast, if you cant find something you like from the choice available, youre far too fussy. I did buy myself some nescafe as thiers was a bit rough. The staff were really helpful and friendly, and spoke perfect English. The only fault I could find was the towels could do with replacing, they were a bit frayed round the edges and a washed out colour, but all the same perfectly clean. A good Hotel for a short stay I would thoroughly recomend it. We found the cafes bars and restaraunts off the main square slightly cheaper but really good. I liked the little touch of putting out blankets on each chair to keep you warm if you choose to eat outdoors. Oh and make use of the little electric golf buggy things they will give you a tour of the main sights, so you can get your bearings. A great 4 days I will long remember .

Just returned from an amazing 5 day break in Krakow, we stayed at the Wyspianski Hotel. The location was great and the hotel very clean and the staff extremely pleasant. Our room was small and the beds strangely placed, however we had a comfortable stay, could have done with tea and coffee making facilities, (we were left 2 small bottles of water every day) The breakfast was excellent, some mornings we had to ask for food to be put out as some of the more popular things had ran out, the dining staff were always pleasant. I would stay again in this hotel if and when I come back to Krakow.

Hotel Wyspianski is squarely aimed at the package and excursion trade. You're as likely as not to come down to its sizeable restaurant wondering whether to eat dinner in, and find every table rammed with children recently disgorged from a couple of school coaches. It's only five minutes from the glories of Krakow's old town - so you couldn't really be better located. And I don't know this for a fact, but I bet you can get good rates deals picking up rooms left over from package tour bookings. However the hotel itself - well run, well kept, well serviced though it doubtless is - is characterless. You could be absolutely anywhere. Or nowhere. The breakfasts and the restaurant food are dull, too. The wi-fi just scrapes in as adequate - only just though, several of my colleagues fared worse than I on its feeble signal. A hotel should be part of the experience of a city: this is not.
