We stayed at the Pod Roza Hotel Krakow over Easter 2013. The location was perfect a couple of minutes walk to the square. The staff were very helpfull loaning us a plug adapter and helped with restaurants etc. The rooms were very spacious and warm even with the snow outside we were never cold. The rooms were supplied with dressing gowns, slippers, shower gel, shampoo etc even down to a little sewing kit. The breakfast was good and plentiful with both hot and continental on offer one day there was even a smoked salmon on the table, delicious also juice, tea and coffee in abundance. Would recommend this hotel. Krakow also superb

We stay at the Pod Roza Hotel in Krakow for 5 nights in March. We were a party of 8 adults. The hotel was fantastic, the location was perfect. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Whilst it was minus5 outside the rooms were very warm and comfortable. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice and a great cup of coffee. I will definitely go back it just a matter of when... Would definitely recomend. First class.

Room Tip: Third and fourth floor are best because there can be a little noise from the street.

This hotel worked perfectly for my family (wife and 3 kids aged 15, 13 and 11) plus parents in law. Very good location 2 minutes from main square, comfortable rooms which were not fussy but spacious. Our room was quite noisy as we were close to Florianska St. Really nice breakfast, very helpful staff, all in all highly recommended.

Room Tip: Go for 2nd floor and avoid those too close to Florianska St

First time in Krakow. Beautiful city. Excellent hotel, ideally located within 5 minutes walk of main square. Good restaurants and bars close by. Stayed in a standard double room which was well presented and spotlessly clean. Weather was very cold but hotel was comfortable with underfloor heating in the bathroom. Room was cleaned and towels were changed everyday. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Bar area within main restaurant was small with limited seating available at the bar counter. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and alternatives available on request. Will definitely be returning to Krakow again and will choose to stay in this hotel again. Would highly recommend to other travellers to Krakow.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Pod Roza. We had a lovely room with beautiful bathroom with lots of hot water and underfloor heating with clean towels everyday. The room was well furnished with lovely bedding and lighting.

Breakfast was great they do a brilliant soft boiled egg and a good cold buffet. The coffee with breakfast is excellent. We ate in both the restaurants in the evening and they were very good.

All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The reception staff organised a driver to take us to Auschwitz-Birkenau, we asked at 9.30am if it was possible and the driver turned up half an hour later, the trip was well worth it and our driver Micheal was excellent in sorting everything for us and very informative.

The location is brilliant, a stones throw from the main square but we had a room overlooking the centre of the hotel and we heard no noise at all at night.

We would definately recommend this hotel and would visit again.

We have just returned from a week staying at this lovely central hotel just a few minutes walk from the main city square. We had a big, well-furnished room on the top floor, overlooking the glass-covered courtyard which meant that there was absolutely no exterior noise and we had the best sleep ever each of the 7 nights!

The bathroom was modern, finished to a high standard and with a great powerful shower. Towels were changed daily and the room was spotlessly clean.

Breakfast was good - sufficient choice and everything kept topped up so we never had to ask for replenishments. Various cooked eggs available and the cold buffet was more than enough to satisfy us.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the whole atmosphere was very professional. We visit Krakow frequently, having lived here in the past, but this was our first stay at this hotel - it won't be our last though! Can thoroughly recommend it.

Room Tip: If a good night's sleep is important, ask for a room away from the main street which can be very...

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Pod Roza Hotel is the oldest hotel in Krakow. It is located between the Florianska Gate and the Main Square, in the heart of old town. The hotel is on the busy Royal Route, which leads millions of tourist straight to the Royal castle. Since the 17th century it has played host to numerous international luminaries. Tsar Alexander I of Russia, Grand Duke Constantine Romanov, Persian emissary to Napoleon Mohamed Riza, Franz Liszt, Honore de Balzac are amongt many eminent guests that stayed here. STET DOMUS HAEC, DONES FLUCTUS FORMICA MARINOS EBIBET ET TOTUM TESTUDO PERAMBULET ORBEM - Latin proverb, engraved at the entrance of the palace guarantees that nothing will change for the centuries to come: "May this house stay here until the ant drinks all of the sea water and the turtle ends its route around the world". Following its refurbishment this four-storey hotel, located in the former Renaissance palace of Prospero Provano, meets all the modern standards of hospitality. 57 Rooms are available, including seven suites. Each floor has a unique decor, from the stately and distinguished biedermeier style to the cosy contemporary arrangement. The colorful polychrome on the walls, historic tile stoves, woodblock floors, graceful stuccowork with the recurring rose motif testify to the hotelier tradition that has been nurtured throughout the centuries. Each guest room is equipped with air-conditioning, phone, complimentary high-speed Internet access, plasma TV and minibar. The bathrooms, featuring luxury Italian fittings and heated floors, are tiled with natural stone (granite, marble, basalt, mica). Two elegant restaurants are housed on the former courtyard under a glazed roof. Each has a unique style, decor and service. At weekends the food lovers are entertained by live piano music. ... more   less
