This hotel is very central of a very good standard. Situated in a quite area with only short bell ringing from adjacent convent. Excellent assistance from hotel staff - eager and willing to help with your questions regarding tourist attractions. Abundant restraunts of good quality in a short distance from hotel. Hotel room was spacous and fitted to a good standard. WiFi speed was very good. A good choice of food and beverages at breakfast buffet.

Room Tip: A room not facing the street may have been quieter but the bell ringing lasted only a very short spa...

We stayed at Wawel Hotel for 3 days in February 2014. The hotel quite central (in the old city), within walking distance to most sights in Krakow. Although central location, the hotel is located in a small, quiet street, so you won't be bothered by the sounds of the city. The rooms were spacious and very nice, and the breakfast was good. I would definitely stay at Wawel Hotel again!

This hotel is excellent. It is perfectly located. the staff are helpful beyond words. Rooms are great-mine was a top floor room, beautifully clean and nicely furnished. Comfy bed! Only slight drawback as the bathroom lighting. Shower was great. Water was replaced daily. There is a computer for guests and that holiday essential- an ironing room! and a coffee machine.
Breakfast is wonderful-a stupendous choice and you only need to ask for bacon and egg and it appears- the eggs seemed to have been laid yesterday; very happy chickens!
They helped us get to Auschwitz-Birkenau- we needed a wheelchair and all that was brilliantly organised. Nothing was too much trouble. We ate there one night too and the food was great. A multi-lingual, vivacious young woman works there and she was -or seemed-permanently cheerful even when exhausted and her patience tried by customers. We loved it and would have no hesitation in returning. we'd also recommend it to everyone,

This hotel is perfectly placed to get to all the sights. Close to the Old Square, Wawel Castle and the Old Jewish Quarter. I had a single room which was surprisingly large. Breakfast was good and hearty and the staff always helpful. A few things to watch for (were not a problem for me but best to be advised). The lift only goes to the 2nd floor so you will have to walk your luggage up the last flight up; the bed is nice and hard (the way I like but obviously not to everyone's taste); and the in-room safe needed 15 minutes to re lock. Caught me by surprise the first time but ok after that. I would highly recommend this hotel for its great location and polish charm.

Upon arrival we found the staff very helpful and inviting.
We had booked the apartment on the top floor and a single room on the next floor down. Both exceeded our expectations. They were very spacious indeed and attractively decorated with high quality fixtures and fittings, also very clean. The whole of the hotel - corridors, stairs etc were beautifully decorated with murals and description of the history of the hotel itself.
The mattresses were firm and it was surprisingly quiet even when the hotel filled up towards the end of the week. The location, down a side road, with the Castle Wawel and river, a short walk in one direction and the main square in the other, was excellent.
You could pop back if you were were spending time nearby and meet up with family / friends, in the orangery, at any time and have complimentary hot drinks.
We were also allowed to use the facility on our final day, as our flight was a few hours after our check out time.
The breakfast was very satisfactory with a wide choice of hot and cold foods and drinks which were constantly being topped up. We dined in the hotel restaurant having traditional Polish food from the menu which was delicious and attractively served up.
Our experience of all restaurants during our stay, was very good, sensibly priced food.
We took a bus to Zakopane for a whole day [it was a comfortable 2hr ride from bus station] and could stay there for longer than when going with a tour operator - also it was considerably cheaper doing it yourself. It was beautiful - the snow topped mountains, the picturesque houses.....and much much more to see and do.
We also went by train to Wielczka salt mines which was an amazing 3hr tour underground.
We visited the Ojcowski Park Narodowy, Skala by minibus which was used by many locals who lived around the area.
Altogether we had a very busy, interesting and enjoyable weeks stay.
Would recommend you try the Polish traditional foods like Pierogi, Golabki, placki, sernik, and the soups. It is well worth going into a milk bar [one near hotel] to try some of these out - the prices are exceptionally low.
We would definitely return and stay at Hotel Wawel and spend more time exploring Zakopane.

Room Tip: If you're prepared to spend a tiny bit extra the apartment on the top floor is a must - fridge...

We stayed in the hotel Wawel early april 2014. The staff are courteous and helpful. Room is a good size with a very comfortable bed. Mattress was firm but not too hard. There is a fridge in the room and a decent size flat screen tv. The ensuite is modern and spotlessly clean. Towels changed every day if you so wish.
Breakfast is self service and mainly continental. However, you can have fried or scramble eggs done if you ask and also bacon.
Free coffee is available from a machine on the first floor of the hotel.
We are definately going back next year.

We stayed for two nights in the summer. Great hotel, friendly staff and amazing location. It was only a short walk to the main square so we couldn't have asked for much better. Rooms were a good size and the hotel was beautifully decorated. Would definitely go back on my next visit to Krakow.
