The castle itself is beautiful but their ticketing policy is odd. You can wander around the grounds for free which is good if you want to see the architecture and gardens, but each section for tours inside is individually ticketed which you have to queue for. I can see that if you were not interested in one part, then you don't buy a ticket for that area but what is wrong with buying a ticket for the whole attraction. I didn't wish to queue for tickets for each area as it was a very hot day so took in the majesty of the castle grounds instead. You also get a very good view over the river and the city from here. This in itself was worth the walk up the hill.

Incredible visit! I prebooked tickets online for the Private Apartments and State Rooms. My booked time was at 10:20am and I’m glad I went early, as an hour later there were many more crowds in the courtyard and complex. Photos are allowed inside, masks worn all the time. At one point the route between the Apartments and Rooms intersects and there’s no clear sign in which direction is which so I wandered between the two which is apparently verboten haha (as there are timed views for each section). Anyway overall was there a little over an hour combined. English translations for every placard in the rooms. Absolutely worth the cheap, cheap price. I got on for free as a journalist.

Relaxing walk through the history of Wawel's 1000 year existence as the seat of Kings.
A delight for art lovers and those fascinated by arms through the ages. The exhibitions are divided into areas that are individually accessed with timed tickets. Worth the time and the money both for the interest and the city views.

Great place to visit and to learn about the history of Poland and the city of Kwakow. The art collection is amazing with a lot of work from The Netherlands and other European countries. Recommend you visit the royal apartments and state rooms and the Crown treasury. You can buy your tickets online or at the castle itself. There are 2 entry points. You can also walk for free in the courtyard. Inner and outer one. Visit in the morning to avoid a large crowd. And in the weekend a lot of locals visit around 11:00/12:00.

Worth a walk round. Stunning buildings and the cathedral was stunning.
Doesn’t seem that big while you walk around it, but it is. Very nice and friendly staff.
