Owner description: Serving as a royal residence and the site where the country's rulers governed Poland for five centuries (1038-1596), this castle is a symbol of the independent Polish state and today contains a priceless collection of 16th-century Flemish tapestries, considered to be one of the largest in the world.

One of the many ‘must see’ places of great historical interest in cracking Krakow. Great walk around the castle with tremedou# views - not to be missed.

The visit to Wawel Royal Castle was nice. The castle is beautiful and so are the castle grounds. We really enjoyed walking around and looking at the architecture.

Such a lovely place to walk up to and around without having to pay. If you wish to enter the castle itself then there is a change but to walk around the grounds and the cathedral was free.

There’s not much to it to be honest. I’ve seen my fair share of historical buildings and in comparison it doesn’t give you that grandness.

However if you’re in the area it’s worth a look.

If you really want to feel the atmosphere of Royal Krakow-the previous capital of Poland I think, its a must to visit Wawel Royal Castle with its chambers, unique tapestries and many more.Admire the courtyard and have a look at the dragon's cave ...as the legend has it, the dragon used to live under the Wawel hill ;-)
