Owner description: Serving as a royal residence and the site where the country's rulers governed Poland for five centuries (1038-1596), this castle is a symbol of the independent Polish state and today contains a priceless collection of 16th-century Flemish tapestries, considered to be one of the largest in the world.

It is a bit of a steep incline to get there, but well worth it. There is no charge to get in but about a dozen places that charge once you are inside. I think the best part was a walk down to the river and a stroll past the fire dragon.

Not able to tour the castle due to the President bring in town and hosting a meeting/ dinner here. Very annoying as it is unlikely we shall visit Krakow again as we like to visit new places. The castle was closed for two days not just for a few hours. Very inconsiderate!

Very very cheap for whats on offer. The Castle museum closes at 5 and the headset must be returned went their at 3 and had to rush the second half in order to see the museum. Found the headset great value and very informative pleas give yourself plenty of time and enjoy lots of crypts tombs and stories and the museum especially Pope John Paul 11 section was very moving

The Royal Castle is not a single entry ticket and it would be difficult to do all the castle in half a day. I suggest you do the state apartments first and then decide which of the other tickets you need to purchase. Well worth a visit

we spent almost a whole day here walking round, taking amazing photos, we went to the museum, the cathedral and looked around the tombs of the castle it self. we had a beautuful lunch and coffee on the square and sat there taking in all the beautiful views and history.
