Owner description: Serving as a royal residence and the site where the country's rulers governed Poland for five centuries (1038-1596), this castle is a symbol of the independent Polish state and today contains a priceless collection of 16th-century Flemish tapestries, considered to be one of the largest in the world.

This a beautiful castle, well maintained and that the church is still actively used is awesome. There are great views of the city and make sure you go up the Cathedral tower.

“beware the dragon”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

I visited the castle during a free walking tour (recommended) and it is a beautiful place worth seeing.
Take a walk through the caves at the castle but beware - there may be a dragon lurking in there
p.s. this dragon can also be seen for free if you walk around the outside of the castle by the river but it's cool seeing the caves and its not expensive to do so it's worth doing it the proper way :)

“Definetely worth a visit.”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

Old resident of the King and Queens of Poland. Now only used for special occasions. Take a walk up the hill. You dont have to pay and go inside although there is a lot more to see inside. Its free to go into the cathedral.
