Owner description: Considered the world's oldest shopping mall, the present Renaissance structure dates from 1555 and features in its interior many food stalls and small shops, terrace cafes and flower stands that surround the statue of Adam Mickiewicz.

Beautiful interior, well worth a stroll down, but some of the shops are tacky and repetitive, was hoping for a little bit more. That said, there is definitely a bargain or two hidden in there for those with time to pour over the stalls. The building itself is lovely, so even if you aren't interested in the shopping, it's good to see and will only take up minutes of your time.

In the centre of Krakow is the Central Square and the focal point of this is one of the oldest markets in Europe. The Sukiennice or Cloth Market. When you approach the square you will be impressed by the Cloth Market from the outside. Architecturally it is a wonderful building and stands proud beautiful. I thought it was a great building, extremely interesting with history to match. However, the one disappointing aspect was the actual market inside. Now this may just be me, but it is basically a single walkway run from one end to the other with stalls either side. Different from most markets and this relative uniqueness gives it an attraction but the stalls themselves are a continuous run of the same after the same in the main. Perfect if you want that Krakow or Polish souvenir but not what I would call a 'market' and certainly not the type of market which has existed in this location over hundreds of years. It has adapted to the tourist industry and again although this is not the market's fault ( follow demand to survive ) it does make this wonderful building and location lose a bit of its edge for me. Maybe I was expecting too much and the interior is very well presented ( and it offers some respite from the hot midday sun ) but nevertheless a little disappointing that tourism has taken the edge of it. Still I loved the actual building and it is a must see and visit attraction of Krakow.

Beautiful building, but look elsewhere for shopping. The hand-made goods are needlessly expensive that can probably be bought from elsewhere for cheaper.

I was a little disappointed here, I thought all the stalls pretty much sold the same thing one after the other of mass produced stuff. I loved the architecture of the building and it was lovely and cool inside, out the hot sun but I think it would have been nice to see something a bit mor original. Yes there was lots of trinkets, tons of amber, which it think would have been so much more unique had there not been about 15 stalls selling pretty much the same stuff...
