Owner description: Huge 10-acre square, the largest in any of Europe's medieval cities, features the 16th-century Renaissance Cloth Hall and the splendid 14th-century Gothic Basilica of the Virgin Mary.

The only such place in Europe. Crowde,d fun, literally every doors are entrances to the pubs or restaurants, and all are open to welcome guests. At any time of the day or night, somethingis going on here, especially at night you will be surround by discos and parties. In contrast to other European cities, Krakow market is large and spacious.
Townhouses and historic buildings are newly renovated and look beautifully in pastel colors. This place is charming in both: summer and winter.
In winter everywhere are the beautiful Christmas decorations and stalls. I highly recommend try mulled wine then, especially in frosty evening!

Lots of bars restaurants cafes and souvenirs... Go on a horse and cart ride around the square for less than £20 for half an hour
Best eatery for me was Sioux absolutely stunning place... American Indian diner.... Food there was fab. Also went to Yummys but found that just ok...
Polish chocolates are divine, can't remember the name of the shop but when you go in you can hand pick what chocs you want and the box is very cheap... I bought 6 boxes for presents and it came to about £30....

Our visit coincided with Polish Independance Day and consequently it was carnival atmosphere thronged with celebrating locals...even so able to move and mingle quite happily....really had to revisit the following day to actually see the sights.

When you come upon the market square you see the amazing churches. Surround the square are restaurants/cafes - loads to choose from. The Cloth Hall is an undercover market selling Polish nicknacks (great if you're into jewellery). Then there's the horse & carriage rides. Even if you don't go on one, they're a lovely sight when you're sitting in one of the open air cafes with a lovely coffee. We went in the freezing cold and rain but still enjoyed it immensely.

What an amazing square. It's so large and surrounded by gorgeous buildings. There are many cafes and restaurants to sit and people watch. Gets lively at night as well.
