There was a designated English language tour and our guide spoke excellent English and was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the building and its history. Very good value.

“i want to go to school there”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

we only saw a small part of the university, but it was quite beautiful and interesting. we were shown through 4 or 5 rooms that encircled the main courtyard where there were various artifacts, furniture and decor that was several hundred years old. our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and his English was very good. the tour lasted less than an hour but we enjoyed it. we watched the moving clock that rang just as we left the last room.

“From Copernicus to Neil Armstrong”

From a historical perspective, very interesting. Our guide was informative and had a great sense of humor. His English was a bit hard to understand but his jokes made up for any difficulty we had.

“Poland Academic History”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Collegium Maius is the place where the most important and historical chambers of the Jagiellonian University are located. If you visit Collegium Maius, you will undoubtedly find the square it is located on very beautiful. Sometimes during the week (Tuesdays) you can enter Collegium Maius for free, but even if you cannot the tickets are not very expensive. I highly recommend going on a tour so that you understand what happened in those rooms and how the University was founded. The rooms and location itself do not do justice to this beautiful history behind it. You can also see an Oscar and other awards that were donated to the Jagiellonian by various artists and writers. If you are in Poland, this is a must-see!
