“Great History surrounding this wall”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2013

It is amazing. There is nothing else to say. It is grand and was the entrance used by royalty for hundreds of years when they came into the city. The gate is still part of the remaining fortifications that only surround the one side of the city. Interesting fact: this part of the wall was saved because of two logical reasons. When the Austrians were tearing down the fortifications from the rest of Krakow, they were persuaded to keep this small length of the wall to keep diseased "wind" from blowing down the royal route and to stop ladies dresses from blowing, i.e. help keep ladies dignities. It is a true story; it is written in the archives.

“beautiful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2013

We stumbled upon this by accident if you'll believe it! A really lovely, extremely well built gate. It seems like it's in a really strange place, a bit like it's been abandoned in the middle of the city when they forgot to put it in the design, but a really lovely area. You wouldn't believe you're in the middle of a busy city.

“Beautiful Gate”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2013

Well, if you are in Krakow, you will definitely see it! A beautiful gate (trams used to pass there before WWII) is a part of a wall and it will take you to the Main Square, Sukiennice and Mariacki Church. Many painters selling their art, lovely restaurants around.
