Owner description: Encircling the Old Town district, this 14th-century gate and its four towers are the remnants of the city's fortifications, most of which were destroyed at the beginning of the nineteenth century.

Stand at the gate and look back down towards the Main Square; good photo opportunity. All people seem to pass through here at some point.

These remnants of the city's fortifications are simply amazing, the view is beautiful and the setting lovely.

The only shame of this place is that you walk through the gate to find a McDonalds!

If I didn't know it was something wort walking to, I wouldn't have walked past it and realised!! It is pretty, but not spectacular.

We stumbled upon St Florian's Gate when we were wandering around the Old Town. It's very pretty and has a little shrine inside, presumably to St Florian himself. On the inner wall, there were works of local art for sale.

It is impressive and outstanding. It is the entrance to the historic city and played a very important historic role. Under its arch is an altar to the Virgin Mary always well cared for by the nuns that are always nearby
