“a lot of vegetarian variations!”
Reviewed May 29, 2012

The salads are really great, they are not very cheap but they are very tasty. The service is OK. I haven't seen so many salads variations before!

“Warm and inviting...makes me miss Poland”
Reviewed April 27, 2012 via mobile

We tried Galimatias one night for an outdoor beer in the evening. It was so nice that we decided to eat here the following night. Boy were we happy we did. The indoor decor and ambiance is so warm and romantic. The drapery made from traditional Polish rose patterned fabric, the little touches everywhere...you know you're in Poland. The staff were so friendly and helpful, speaking both in English and Polish.

The dishes were fantastic. Try the Cumin soup for a touch of truly Cracovian cuisine. The potato and cottage cheese pierogi were just like my grandmothers, finger licking good. For our mains our party ordered pork cutlets and whole trout (which by the way was amazig). To finish it all off we had the warm cherry sundae. Don't miss this one, it is so delicious.

I lloved this place more than any other nearby restaurant we tried. It was rustic-elegant, not stuffy. There was a large corporate party downstairs and despite this, our meals came out right away without any delay. Service was great, we did not wait at all. The price was right. Just fantastic. This restaurant will be on the top of my list on my next visit to Kraków.

“"Galimatias" = "Great Grub"”
Reviewed April 21, 2012

Name has been changed from "Vega". Galimatias is a superb restaurant. Located same building at Szeroka 3, phone number +48 12 422 18 02.
Situated on lovely tree lined square in the Kazimierz area of Krakow. Lovely decor of light touch of pink roses. Brightly lit and polished. Tablecloths and real flowers on each table makes this a cozy little nitch in one corner of the square that is warm and inviting. Feels and looks like a Country Inn, sooooooo delightful.
Cuisine is primarily polish with large portions. Our waiter, Greg, was multi lingual and very efficient. The menu offered just enough choices without overwhelming the customer. We had different soups, borsch and mushroom. Wonderful. Second choice was the pork cutlet. Fantastic. Finished it off with a delicious icecreme sundae with big warm cheeries. Greg checked to see how we were doing and if we needed anything without being over intrusive. Had lovely little pot of tea that was relaxing as we sat in a booth by the front window dressed in lovely little white curtains.
Mixture of booths and windows in large room. Toward the back was the bar with a very knowledgeable bartender. He also was multi lingual and the menu read in polish and english. Tariff was very reasonable. Upscale casual attire will make you comfortable in this setting.
Enjoyed the atmosphere, food and price so much, we returned the next evening to do it all over again. Lastly, there is an outdoor garden dining area for use in the pleasant weather.
Would return if a trip to Krakow is warranted in the future. Their e-mail is www.galimatiasrestauracja.pl

“Appears to be called Galimatias and what a find. Great local food at great value for money.”
Reviewed December 7, 2011

Having just eaten in Galimatias Restauracja we need to tell you to give it a try.

The restaurant was quiet although it was midweek and the other tables were Polish as you are off the tourist trail. Which makes you feel that you are in real Poland.

The food is good quality simple tasty dishes at great value for money.

The service was very good and the waiter assisted with describing the local dishes.

Should you eat there? Yes. Would we eat there again. Yes.
