“Clean, good location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2012

I've stayed for three nights in this hotel. It is really a five minutes walk from the old town (stare miasto) and two minutes walk from a large shopping center.
The room was very clean and everything looks brand new. A few words about the room... layout - the shower and the toilet are in separate spaces. The shower is separated from the room with a glass door, while the toilet space has a lockable door. The sink is in the room. Although I thought this would bother me... it didn't.
The staff was friendly and helpful. We received a free city map and instructions about how to get around. You can also book guided tours at the reception - I highly recommend Auschwitz and Wieliczka salt mine.
Breakfast is a bit on the expensive side, considering the shopping center near by which has a food court with all sorts of breakfast options. The parking is also a bit expensive, but considering the area there's really no other parking option.

Very economical, but I did need to rent 2 rooms for my 3 person family group as my son is older than their limit. It was still reasonable even with the 2 rooms. It was nice to have it so close to the train station as the over night train from Prague comes in early in the morning and we were tired and ready to leave our bags somewhere nearby, which was not a problem. It is a short walk to the main square and we returned and checked in toward evening. Their reservation and cancellation system is very easy to work with and very accommodating.

Although this isn't *really* a top-notch property in terms of amenities or decor, there are just so many good things about this hotel that I don't want trivial items to get in the way of an overall wonderful rating of my experience here. I stayed for 5 days by myself on a sight-seeing trip to Krakow.

I'll start with the negatives first, as the list is rather short.

Negatives: Expensive in-room internet (although it's free in the common areas), no hairdryer, in-room coffee, bar fridge, in-room phone, nor toiletries, etc. (but of course this is a 2-star hotel so this is what should be expected). Breakfast is on the expensive side, so after the first day I didn't bother.

Positives: OK, the list will be a lot longer here.

Location: Excellent. You can be at the most modern Galeria (mall) in 2 minutes where you can buy snacks, get your morning coffee, and also shop for the latest fashions. If you know where you're going, the train and bus stations are found by passing through the bottom floor of the mall. The tram stops literally outside the door of the adjoining Ibis Hotel (the stop for the technical university) and you can be in the old part of Krakow in 10 minutes (take the tram going in the direction which passes the mall). Also, this hotel was one of the pick-up spots for the 'Cracow Tours' to see the salt mine and Auschwitz, so that was helpful.

Eating: As mentioned above, the mall is next door and I think it's open until 10 pm most days - there are a few fast food places in there. There is a vending machine in the hotel itself for coffee and snacks. Your best bet is to head into the old town, where there are loads of traditional restaurants. But, what I did almost every day for one of the meals was to head into the Ibis hotel next door (30 seconds' walk). The restaurant in there is good and the service is super-friendly. Plus, you can ask for a free internet code at the front desk and get caught up while you're waiting for dinner.

Rooms: This hotel is only a few months old, and it shows. Everything is fresh and crisp. It looks almost like an upscale dorm in its spartan layout - with IKEA-type furnishings. There were some wonderful whimsical touches: the shower head has LEDs which change colour, and the light switch on the headboard (very useful!) has an option for 'mood lighting', which is essentially a cord of LEDs around the wainscoting-level of the room. The flatscreen TV was tiny but sufficient, although my remote batteries could have used refreshing - but it was pretty much just parked on the BBC the whole time anyhow.

Cleanliness: Newness of this property means it looks and smells clean. I enjoyed coming into the room as it had a pleasant smell to it. Towels were a bit on the thin side, but were always clean. I felt bad for the cleaning staff - my large luggage broke and whilst it was being repaired in town I had to pile everything on the other side of the bed! They rolled with it, though, and the duvet was just folded in half for me every day. Cleaning was excellent.

Staff: One of the highlights here. Each of the young ladies on the front desk was pleasant and, although English language ability varied, the main girl was wonderful. There was always a pleasant smile and helpful attitude each time I approached to ask about something. Similarly, the staff at the Ibis restaurant next door were fantastic.

In sum, I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a (relatively) low-frills, clean, inexpensive place to stay in Krakow which isn't in the heart of the action but which is still in an excellent location for proximity to other amenities. I would stay here again.

A absolutely nice hotel.Brand new and clean ibis budget rooms offer an excellent stay. The rooms are typical of ibis budget, cocoon type.
Reception staff was friendly and helpfull.
Car park is a bit expensive (45zlt) but there is space to park your car just opposite the hotel entrance if you dont want to pay.
There is free wifi only in the lobby area.
Location of the hotel is also great.Just next to Galleria Krakowska amd only 10 minutes walk to the centre of old town.
I would definately choose this hotel again.

Very near to the bus station and krakow commercial center with hundreds of shops.
Quite new, very clean. The staff is very kind and reception is always open.
The unique complain is that there was no hairdryer in the room.
I will back for sure if I return in Krakow

Only a short walk from the main station and the old town. Very clean hotel through out. Bar and meal prices are very reasonable. Staff will go out of their way to assist, always with a polite and friendly smile. Very comfortable beds with no disturbing noise. Although not a five star rating, it has a lot of quality and style which most five star premises lack. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Very good location, close to the railway station, 10 minutes walk to the Market Square. Hotel opened a month ago, everything is new and clean. Small room with a large and comfortable bed, shower and sink inside. A friendly and helpful staff. TV and internet in the room (internet for an extra charge). In the lobby internet for free.
Only cold but tasty breakfast.
I'm strongly recommend this hotel to all who are looking for an overnight stay at a decent price.
