“Krakow walking tour”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

Our guide, Phil, was one of the most knowledgeable and insightful tour guides we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He took us on the most fascinating two and a half hour tour of the Jewish Quarter and Ghetto of Krakow - mixing history with current political commentary, humour with a huge amount of insight. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. You will learn more in a couple of hours with Phil than you would in several weeks reading the guide books.

“Segway tour 4 hours”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

Being fans of the segway since we tried them on a tour in Munich in 2012, we booked up a 4 hours tour at one of the tourist info offices. The Cool Tours offices are up an unpromising looking alleyway in Grodzka, off the main market square. Being a party of four Scots from Glasgow, it was a pleasant surprise to be paired with a couple of fellow Scots, and in holiday spirit, we readily forgave them their faux pas of being from Edinburgh.
The segway as a mode of transport combines efficiency with fun. They are easy to get the hang of and become quite addictive. Konrad, our guide, allowed plenty familiarisation time (with the segways, not himself) and they have a 20kmph speeed restrictor so nobody was breaking any land speed records anyway. These are far from familiar sights on the streets, and we attracted admiring/increduloius/glowering looks wherever we went (select one depending on self image).
Konrad's English was excellent, and he was an amiable guide. What I would imagine to be all the usual ground was covered, without it feeling like too much of a by the numbers tour. Having later covered a fraction of the ground on foot, it is obvious that you wil see far more of the city on a segway than on a walking tour. It is possible to soak in atmosphere even beneath a helmet, travelling at a fair lick beneath a heavy fire of curious bystander eyes.
The furthest point from the start was, I think, the Schindler factory (brief look from outside) and the Jewish quarter. A FBO ( flash of the blindingly obvious) would be that in Krakow in late November you are unlikely to need sunglasses - the cold flat light was fine for four days but could have become oppressive had we stayed longer. Think of the most clothes you could feasibly wear at one time without spontaneously combisting and you have a picture of what is needed, especially on a segway. Hand warmers are a good idea.
Informative and fun, this was the best thing we did in Krakow and I only shy away from 5 stars on the basis that at 300 Zlotys each (about £60) it was only good value if you ignore the fact that you could buy a seven course degustation meal in one of the fine dining restaurants for that money in Krakow. But fear not, dear reader, even although we Scots have deep pockets and short arms, we did manage one such seven course dinner.

“A Brilliant Overview of Krakow's history & sights by bike”
Reviewed November 9, 2013

Thank You Sylwia for leading our us & our fellow bikers around Krakow's historic sites. Your depth of knowledge & passion kept us enthralled. We covered a lot of territory, absorbed so much history. The dark chapters of WWII were balanced with the light of hope for the future. Lunch was enjoyed in a charming cafe where a scene from "Schindler's List" was shot. A lovely shady spot on a hot day. So much history to see in Krakow, biking the many narrow streets is a great way to see it all.

“Ghost Walk”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

Went to the office to book this walk for later on that day only to be told there wasn't one being done at the moment as out of season. We were asked for how many it would be for and told him 6 people. We were then asked to wait a moment and he actually rang up some guides to see if one would take us that evening. Suffice to say that we had an extremely interesting walk with a lovely guide, Matthew, who told us a lot of very interesting history of Krakow and took us into places we would never have known about. As this was our last night in Krakow if was a superb way to finish off. Thank you for being so accomodating and knowledgable it was very much appreciated.
