Visited here on a Tuesday went to the main door to get tickets as you have to pre book to get in . But we were at the wrong building however a guide was standing there and said for 120 zloty which is the entry price we could go in with him . Straight awAy . Not knowing Tuesdays were free we agreed . Though his English was not perfect he gave us a good and informative view of the place . It's well worth a visit . If a guided tour is needed I'm not sure up to the individual we could easily have gone around with out one as all the info the guide tells you is there for you to read your self . On touch button screens and we gave him a 20 zloty tip not knowing till after that Tuesday are free . Felt a bit conned at the end .

I have mixed feelings about the Rynek Underground. Admission is through a doorway in the Cloth Hall; timed tickets are sold in a separate location on the other side of the Cloth Hall. There's a lot to learn about the excavation of the Market Square. Some of the visuals are impressive. And the captions are in multiple languages. There was a nice display of the underground Rich Stalls which were buried as the town was built up. But we found the use of the touch screen displays a bit of a waste. We spent too much time wading through endless menus in order to learn about history when the same information could be presented more efficiently by simply providing more than one sentence per screen. There's a lot of archaeological material to be seen here, but the presentation could be much better.

We found this by accident because we had three hours before our train´s departure so we went to visit - thanks to their long opening hours. We said "This is how a town can spend money well". I know virtually nothing about Polish history, except the common communistic we share, so it was interesting to see some names of their Kings. Technology well used (we were excited by real holograms), touch screens, used well (hidden in a chest or a box). One could spend hours and hours there, which we unfortunately didn´t have but I can definitely recommend it.

Thanks to other reviewers on here we found the ticket office and the entrance as they are not easy to see, opposite sides of the Cloth Hall. It was a good and very interesting couple of hours. The films are worth watching to get the whole picture. Teenage boy really not interested, but teen girl loved it (she does love history).

We spent a full week in Krakow seeing numerous churches, buildings, historic sights and the such. On our very last night we decided to do the Rynek Underground (largely because it is open until 10 pm). This was the best way to end the trip! Not only is it way cool to realize you are walking under the main square looking at the old market walls, or that it was excavated as late as 2005; but it really ties everything together. There are 5 films which give a full history from prehistoric to present time. Suddenly all the seeming unconnected things we had seen made sense and we appreciated them all the better. If you do nothing else watch these films!
