We used Krakow Discovery for airport tranfers and Auschwitz-Birkennau trip. The service was excellent. Slawek even found a Norwegian speaking guide, Silvia, who was brilliant. We give Slawek and Krakow Discovery our full recommendation. Ivar Pedersen /1476 Rasta / Norway

We used this company for our airport transfers and our Auschwitz tour. Prompt, reliable and very friendly service would highly recommend them. Slawek the owner of the business was a pleasure to deal with. They organised the tour booking and it all flowed smoothly with no effort required by us! 10/10 from us.

We used this company on a friends recommendation and they were not wrong. We booked the tour to the concentration camps and it was well organised, a prompt pick up, safe driver and value for money.. we had appalling weather on our trip where it poured with rain, our driver even offered us the use of umbrellas, what a nice touch. Would definitely recommend them and their website and Slawak was a great help, communication was fantastic. A first class service.

The tour was very informative and the guide was well informed. You can almost feel the unimaginable horror in the air at both sites. Unbelievable the size of Birkenau and the horrors that happened in both places. These are a must see for anyone in the area.

We visited on a chilly March morning and were not disappointed. The tour guides spoke English and were very well informed and respectful of their subject matter. Auschwitz is mostly indoors as the huts are set up as museum exhibits which the guide explains as you walk around. You enter via the famous gateway bearing the chilling sign in German; "Arbeit Macht Frei (Work Brings Freedom)".The remains of the personal effects of the human beings who passed through this place are a chilling sight, most especially the 2 tons of human hair which can be viewed in one of the huts. You can also view the small gas chamber just outside the fence which was used early in WWII before the ones at Birkenau were fully operational. A chill goes down your spine but the visit is mercifully brief and you are soon back outside in the fresh air. It is also here where you can still see the gallows from which the camp Commandant was hanged in 1947 in front of his large villa. There is a sad irony there I think. This part of the tour takes about 2 hours.
Birkenau (Auschwitz II) is about 3 k away and a coach takes you there. What can I say? This part of the tour really give you the chills. The site is about 10 times larger than Aushwitz I and this part of the tour is mainly outdoors. As you arrive in the car/coach park you catch your first frightening glimpse of the iconic railway line and arched entrance as seen in all the movies and documentaries. This almost makes you want to turn back and wish you'd never seen the place. However, if you do choose to continue you will experience standing on the railway platform where "Selection" took place and see an example of the animal freight trucks used for the transportation to the camp of between 50 - 60 human beings and originally built to carry only between 6 - 8 cattle. The ruins of the now destroyed gas chambers can still be seen and give the visitor a mind boggling idea of the huge scale of the human tragedy which was acted out in this dreadful place. There is a very moving but stark reminder of what happened here in the Holocaust memorial which stands nearby. All in all, the tour of both sites takes between 3 - 4 hours and is a very memorable if not uplifting experience. The overall feeling I gleaned from this visit was that no one should doubt that the Holocaust ever happened, however if you need further confirmation you must visit this place to finally dispel those lingering doubts. The price was reasonable at £25.00 pp. One tip, take some food as the snack bars are very basic and offer mainly hot/cold drinks. Also, a spare sweater will keep out the chill of the outdoor parts of the tour.
