“Auschwitz-Birkenau, Wieliczka Salt Mine combined tour”
Reviewed June 7, 2014

I picked Krakow Tours because of the good reviews on trip advisor and I was not disappointed. We had very limited time in Krakow so decided to take the combined tour. This is an excellent way to see as much as you can in a short time. We we're picked up at our hotel on time and taken to Auschwitz where Phil gave us a copy of the guide and information about the best way to see the exhibit, we were also shown the 30 min DVD that is played at the exhibit in the car on the way there which saved time. We had 2.5 hours to look round the exhibit in our own time before Phil took us to Birkenau and escorted us round explaining the exhibit. Then it was back in the car to make our way to Wieliczka Salt Mine, we took the option to have a packed lunch provided by Krakow Tours and at zt35 you may think this is expensive as food is very cheap in Krakow, however it was definitely value for money and saved time as we ate it on the journey between the 2 venues. We had a 2.5 hour tour of the salt mines with Anna our excellent guide, as luck would have it it was pouring with rain that afternoon so perfect to be in this amazing underground attraction. I would definitely recommend this tour and Krakow Tours. The only criticism I do have is that there were 3 parties of 2, making a total of 6 of us on the tour which did make it a bit of a squeeze in the car and if any of us had been on the larger size it would've been very uncomfortable as it was it ok but I would suggest that a maximum of 5 guests would be more suitable for this vehicle. This is a must do excursion if you are visiting Krakow. Please be aware that the morning can be very emotional, so it is nice to do something less emotive but very spectacular in the afternoon.

“A Great Way to See Krakow”
Reviewed June 4, 2014

My wife, whose parents were Polish, had never been to Poland. Recently, on our way to Switzerland, we stopped in Poland for the first time. What a wonderful stop. The entire country and its people and food exceeded expectations. As part of the stop over we had been recommended to visit Krakow. Since our time was limited we decided to seek a private tour to maximize our time. using TripAdviser we contacted Phil Clark at Krakow Tours. He was terrific from beginning to end. He made suggestions and customized our day to what we wanted to do instead of just fitting us into a standard tour package.
He met us on the train platform and gave a great walking tour thru the old town section of Krakow. After a great lunch we went to the "Salt Mines" which was quite interesting. After that he took us to a wonderful dinner spot for more local food that was truly a great surprise. Finally he walked us back to the train to make sure all went well.
So, if you are interested in an English speaking tour guide who cares about showing you what you want to see and that you will have a good time, Phil is your man.

“Auschwitz and Salt Mine tour”
Reviewed June 4, 2014

Mark was our guide for the day, he picked us up at our hotel on time, we arrived before 10am at Auschwitz 1 so that we could look around on our own without having to join a guided tour, Mark showed us the main exhibitions to visit so as to avoid the crowds, very handy as it got very busy after a while, we then moved on to Auschwitz 2 where Mark walked us around the sight and explained how it operated and answered all of our questions, he got the balance just right, not overwhelming us endless fact and figures so that you switch off, he has in depth knowledge of these sights and gets it across in the right way
We then moved on to the salt mine which is a must see, a two hour tour ends your day, a very interesting and moving trip well organised and made even better by a knowledgeable and very pleasant guide

“Auschwitz / Salt Mine Combined 1 day tour - Perfect !”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

Took this one day tour on May 30th, 2014, with our guide Phil. A fully packed and excellent day. We were a small group of four people only, and all was arranged with great professionalism and efficiency. He knew exactly where to go, got us priority over the crowds (important) and made all the necessary arrangements, hotel pick up and even packed lunches for us all.

Visiting Auschwith, Birkenau & then the Wieliczka Salt Mine was an experience and his comments and input was very helpful.

“Perfect Tour with Perfect Tour Guide”
Reviewed June 1, 2014

We booked Auschwitz / Birkenau & Salt mine combined tour through Phil at www.krakowtours.co.uk. Phil was very efficient and informative during the booking process. We were collected promptly from our apartment by Mark who was the perfect tour guide. We all had a fantastic day , Marks extensive knowledge and lovely personality made this a trip to remember, he not only gave us educational & informative information but gave us plenty of advice regarding Krakow and Poland in General. We all fancied a nice steak after our long day so Mark dropped us at his favourite steak house Pimiento Argentino Grill which was a very kind and lovely thing to do but the recommendation was also excellent, the food was perfect. We had a brief chat with Phil at the Salt mines who is also a very friendly charming man , I can not recommend this company highly enough.
