“3 Day Break in Krakow”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

We stayed for a short break at the Hilton Garden Inn in Krakow. Relatively new-build hotel on the banks of the River Vistula in a presently isolated situation but this will soon change as a Conference Centre is being built nearby. About 20min pleasant walk into the centre. The hotel is splendid, the staff all charming and food excellent - particularly the breakfasts. Front rooms look over the Vistula/Castle, rear rooms over suburbia. Any adjacent traffic noise is dampened by efficient double-glazing. Rooms are spacious, modern and cleaned daily. Great walk along the riverside in one direction to the Schindler Museum - worth seeing but very emotional, in the other direction past Wavel Castle.

Room Tip: Front of hotel, high for best views

This is a relatively new hotel located across the Vistula from the old city. The furnishings are modern, the rooms are very clean, and the desk staff was very helpful. Breakfast offerings are plentiful, and the bar is well stocked and offers food as well. The hotel is about a 30 minute walk from the old city, but it's fun to take your time and meander through other neighborhoods as you make your way to the Stare Miasto. This hotel is popular with tour groups, and if you arrive at the same time, you may need to wait a bit for the elevators (there are only two). I would definately stay here again and would recommend this hotel to others.

This is a great hotel. We find all the staff are friendly and helpful. The room is quite nice and modernly equipped. Room size is good and hotel meals are done quite well, all things consider. And I can not say enough how much we appreciate in house free self-serving laundry service. For us who travell 20+ days in Europe, this comes very handy.

The hotel can look like it is not exactuly at the heart of the old town. But me and my partner find it an enjoyable walk to the old town from the hotel for approximately 15 minutes on a good road condition. Tram station is only couple minutes away, and Line 18 will take one into the city centre.

In short, we will definitely come back to this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a deal with Travelzoo and it was amazing. Very well situated to reach the square and other "must see" museums etc. Our room had a spectactular view of the lovely Wawel Castle. The room was very comfortable, the bathroom had a really good stock of toiletries and huge fluffy towels and the breakfasts catered for just about everybody you could think of. It was about 25minutes walk to the square and Oskar Schindler's Factory was within walking distance although trams and buses passed the hotel. The staff were so helpful.

This was a dream hotel....perfect in cleanliness/staff/rooms/location/food & drink and saftey . Even the prices for an Hilton hotel were pleasing and anyone who has a gripe about this hotel you were very unlucky with whatever or just put on this planet to not appreciate what you have . Absolutley no hesitation in returning here should we go back to Krakow which we will has we have unfinished tours to do.............

Great location overlooking Wawel Hill on the opposite side of the River Vistula. Within easy walking distance of the old town yet easily accessible by car and bus,
Excellent accomodation with high quality fittings throughout and being only two years old everything is maintained in first class condition. Beds are fantastic!
Very helpful staff. Bar and restaurant facilities within the hotel give a reasonable choice at a fair price. Internet and phone connections are first class and the hotel is only a twenty minute drive from the airport.
As an aside; we made the inevitable excursion to Auschwitz and upon drawing up in the car park in our chauffeured minibus the radio was playing ' Always look on the bright side of life'. It made a lighthearted but unforgettable memory reminder of a site of such suffering, brutality and suffering.

Room Tip: All rooms are good
