Hilton Garden Inn- Krakow
The great thing about this hotel is it is luxurious and modern, clean and new. The only drawback is that you have to walk about a kilometer or so to get to most of the things you want to see. But, if you don't mind 10 minutes walk to get your day going, or using taxis, then the location isn't that big of a drawback at all. And that gets you back to the upside, which is that it is a luxurious hotel. The room we had was a generous size, the bed was excellent - apparently you can change the hardness which we didn't do because we already liked how it was - there was a very comfortable work desk and great desk chair, and ethernet or wi-fi for internet. The bathroom was shiny and new and clean. It had a shower, but no tub (which I always think is better anyway). The best thing, on top of everything, was the towels. They were amazing. The other thing about the room that was really slick was that in order to turn any of the lights on, you have to put your room key in a slot. When you leave the room, you take your key and all the lights turn off. Not only do you save electricity, but you don't have to run around the room finding all the light switches. When you come back, put the card in, voila, all the lights are on again.
The staff was very professional and very helpful with anything in the hotel or with getting around town. Everyone we interacted with who worked at the hotel spoke English fluently, which is a great convenience for English speaking guest like us. It's also very impressive compared to what you find in the rest of Krakow, which is good but not nearly as good.
The hotel has a little convenience shop right across from the main desk that truly was very convenient. They have a free washer and dryer on the 3rd and 6th floors. For us, in the middle of a trip that was too long to bring new outfits for each day, being able to clean our clothes was a great convenience as well. The hotel doesn't automatically include breakfast but you can eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner in the hotel restaurant and it is very good. We didn't go in the bar. I'd assume it's good. The hotel also has a small, but very well equipped fitness center. The only thing missing is a swimming pool.
This is a top notch hotel in a good location and I highly recommend it.
