In the distinctive setting of a modern build amongst the fine traditional architecture of the Old Town is located this fascinating gallery of contemporary cutting-edge art works.

A number of intriguing exhibitions were live at our visit. Concealed dealt with preventing the observer from entering the space, thus the Occupation of Space. It comprised a reconstruction of a work first revealed about forty years ago, consisting of a multitude of white cones on the floors and hindering movement and functioning.

Collateral was composed of photographs of two cities, namely Nuremberg and Krakow. The former was almost totally destroyed in the war, whilst Krakow emerged almost unscathed but suffered deterioration in the post war era.

Another set of works, with a title of The Machine was so Impressed it Collapsed onto Itself, was by a graduate of the Fine Arts Academy and now working on her Doctorate. She used candle smoke and wax to build up dreamlike pieces.

Harbingers of Chaos focussed on the impact of humans on nature and the environment. With paintings and sculptures the effects of mining and other industrial processes are shown. Nature in captivity is demonstrated with fauna and flora trapped in structures resembling bell-jars.
