This was a strange experience. A lovely restaurant, staff were welcoming even with small children and they were accommodating even though there wasn't a children's menu. However the current trend seems to be things covered in ash and therefore tasting of burnt. The side dish of baked potato consists of a charcoal potato skin withe the inside removed, puree, and returned. The flavor of ash penetrated the potato and it really is an acquired taste. I hade Hake cooked very simply, in fact rather underwhelming with a side sprinkling of said ash which was not to my liking. Out of a group of 10 only 1 person like the ash flavour. Artichoke soup was perculiar but I struggled as there weren't many non meat options for a starter. Others like the steak, pork knuckle, the kids ate the chicken but it was a fairly disappointing evening all round so we didn't stay for desert.
