“Gets a good rating for a reason!”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

Just got back from Krakow and chose Hotel Benefis for the previous reviews. They were not wrong with free WiFi, excellent staff and very good rooms.

We stayed in a room with a view to the Wawel Castle and if you want the same then rooms 42-44 all have balconies overlooking the rear courtyard and Castle.

As other people have mentioned, it is a little way out of town however perfectly placed to choose between the old town, castle or the Jewish quarter of Kazimierz. The tram/bus stop is close by at the end of the road by the roundabout side of Most Grundwaldksi (bridge) and costs 2.80 zloty for 20 mins travel which is more than enough to reach the main sights.

Breakfast was of the standard Central/Eastern European type with cold meats, cheese, eggs etc.. however concessions for more 'Western' tastes are covered my cereals, toast etc...

I would definitely stay here again and there is a lovely little suburban square in front the hotel that has a market and small local convenience stores around.

Room Tip: Go for Rooms 42-44 for a castle view - no problems with church noise a few streets away so do not be...

Stayed at the Benefis at the end of July. The staff were polite, friendly and very knowledgeable about trips and how to get around the city. Our room (42) was spacious with a large bathroom. Towels good and plenty of hot water. View of Wawel Castle and rooftops. Breakfast fine, usual fare with some nice local additions such as cheesecakes and apple cakes, but sadly the coffee was not good! The Benefis IS a little way out of the main city centre and it is a good 20 minute walk across the bridge and beyond. Not a problem in fine summer weather. Taxi fares not expensive to return after an evening out. Reviews of other more centrally located hotels in Krakow mention noise at night but, being a little way out, we did not experience this at the Benefis and slept well. We hired bikes for the day from a hire place on Sw. Anny (recommended) and it was very easy to cycle around the city. Would also recommend a visit to Schindler's factory. Also, if you are visiting Nowa Huta the museum is shut on Mondays!

Room Tip: Room 42 is more of a small apartment, with a big bathroom. View over to Wawel castle and no problem...

My mum and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The staff are really lovely, the rooms are very nice. We had an apartment room and was very spacious during our stay. It was a 10 minute walk to the main square and it was a great view walking over the bridge from the hotel.

Room Tip: Room 31 was spacious and quiet.

They have really great showers! The rooms are nice, clean and spacious. Its very modern so no Krakow ambience here. Don't let the walk scare you just crab a cab as they are fairly inexpensive. The surrounding neighborhood is not the tourist mecca of old town or Kazmeriez.

Room Tip: Careful when booking this on Bookings.com the room types may not be what you expect. Double occupan...

We stayed at this hotel for three nights in July this year.
Firstly the hotel is a ten minute walk from the main square. Some previous reviewers have complained that it is not near enough to the centre of the old town. The hotel is clearly marked on a map so I cannot for the life of me see how this can be something to complain about. Unless the hotel moved between booking and arriving, get over it!!
The hotel is modern and is extremely clean. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough to help. They were happy to book trips, restaurants, taxis etc. and give directions. Their knowledge of what was available, and directions around Kracow were very good, as was their English.
The first night we stayed we ate in the restaurant which is in the basement. This is very nicely presented and is also where breakfast is served. We had a lovely meal with drinks which was very nicely presented and cooked, and extremely good value. Although there are many restaurants in Krakow for convenience after a long drive this was perfect for us.
The breakfast was pleantiful and there was a varied selection for all tastes.
We couldn't fault this hotel, and would say it is a perfect base for exploring Krakow. they say you get what you pay for, but we felt we got a lot more than that!

Just left Krakow this morning and just had to say how amazing this hotel is. Very spacious, clean and comfortable rooms. Our room overlooked the castle and it was beautiful waking up and seeing that every morning. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We had to leave ridiculously early this morning and we had asked the staff to book us a taxi at 5:30am. No problem, got to reception and the taxi was waiting and they had made us a packed lunch as we would miss breakfast! Very much appreciated! We will definitely be back and I will recommend this hotel to everyone

Clean and very spacious rooms with large sitting area. Friendly English speaking staff both at reception and in restaurant. Excellent choice of breakfast which changed on a daily basis.
Good location which meant most of the main attractions were within a 10/15 minute walk.
Would definitely recommend.
