Great place, less crowded than Wieliczka. Wieliczka salt mine was like a huge supermarket during weekend, while in Bochnia I was under the ground with a group of 7 people. The contact with a guide was more private, intimate. It was more magical and vibrant. Suddenly lights went off and we were all crawling in the dark along the corridor for 100 metres. it was great adventure, great fun. We stayed at the hotel close to the salt mine, we parked there and went to salt mine on foot. Bochnia is a cosy, not big town. I do recoomend it, it is less famous so less crawded but not less beautiful. I think it is more attractive. There was a huge slide we could take. Great feeling! Forget about Wieliczka, I can compare both salt mines.

Fantastic tour showing the way salt mine operated beginning from XIII century enriched with multimedia presentations. Interesting stories told by the guide. Tour includes ride by old mining train. You can also choose the option with boating. Full tour takes 3h including 30min relax 248m underground where you can have a lunch, coffee and buy souvenirs. Kids can play football or basketball because the rooms is huge.
Tickets can be bought before entrance
No online sale as of now.
Really nice place to see for the whole family. There is English Tour once a day.

It is an amazing place to visit. Amazing underground trip allows to avoid terrible air pollution in małopolska during colder days.

One of the most unusual place I have ever been. Good for kids. If you have time take a chance and stay at night in the mine.

I've been there on extreme, normally not accessible, route. It goes deep enough with very tricky ladders, a lot of stairs and small spaces. If you like those kind of attractions, it's definitely for you.

In the beginning we had also ridden a underground train,

I wouldn't recommend it for claustrophobic people (unless someone like challenges). Also keep in mind that underground the temperature is relatively lower, so you should bring with you some warm clothes.
