What an amazing place. Gorgeous architecture and garden from a selection of authentic wind mills water mills, church, and houses + some new-build as per originals. an enormous amount of work has gone into preserving this ensemble of rare beauty and simplicity. What is left is a rare feeling of romantic simplicity and raw elegance. Gorgeous.

We went as a group of4 adults and 2 children (3,5 years and 3,5 months). The place is big which makes a wonderful long walk among the little houses by which you make stops and learn how people in Poland used to live. As it is open air - try to plan a trip on a nice sunny day and you will enjoy it a lot!
Apart from the houses and exhibitions inside there are also fee stops with farm animals: sheep, horses, ducks, chickens which kids can enjoy a lot.
Another great feature is a little cafe where you can order something to drink (based on herbs as well as regular tea/coffee) and cakes. I had Rose Lemonade and it was delicious!
What would make the place excellent: 1) shows (people dressed up as they used to working on the farm or showing how people lived), and maybe a better restaurant by the entrance (it was good but average with Polish cuisine).
Point for descriptions in English and German!

Great place to see not only the old houses from XIX century but also the interior design of these homes. Best to visit during summer months where you can see the beautiful flowers blooming in the front yards and the horses roaming around. Skansen is also a home to a few old windmills. Worth to visit if you like the old countryside. Great for kids.

Fantastic open air museum of old times, mainly XIX century from the region. Anything from houses and well preserved interiors with details and period furniture and tools, some originals, farms, a church, windmills and others. Well worth a visit to appreciate how much progress there has been in the past 100 years. A small entry charge, clean toilets, large car park, a restaurant and shops on site. Plenty of space to stroll and rest. The area around the windmills is good for a picknic.

Large museum of the history of the Polish countryside. Skansen interesting and worth a visit. Top summer and on a day when the weather is nice. Many of the buildings you can enter. Being first is definitely worth a buy guided tours.
