“Good value - decent quality”
Reviewed May 24, 2013

Unusual to find a hotel aimed at overseas tourists and business travellers with such a warm and efficient - but still low-key - reception. None of the OTT nonsense (by British standards) you receive from US brands, where flunkeys fall over each other to greet your arrival. Good-sized rooms, decorated in traditional Polish style, with bath and shower, a well-stocked mini-bar, plasma TV, coffee/tea options, plus free and efficient wi-fi, so all the boxes ticked for facilities. The downstairs bar looked very nice, and the restaurant offer was good for breakfast, although a shade limited and quite expensive for evening meals.
The location is ideal, and the combination of a good bed, soft linen and zero traffic noise should guarantee a good sleep for anyone.
The only downside for me was the bizarre 'whooo' noise which the lift emitted, each time it was used, especially as my room was just a couple of strides away.
The only negative I can imagine for guests who demand perfection is that the Branicki is starting to show its age. Flawlessly clean, but the wood, wallpaper and carpets will need a serious refurb in the next year or so, as will some of the fittings in the public rooms. It didn't bother me, but some would consider the environment a little 'tired'.

Room Tip: It's on such a quiet side street that all the rooms should be fine.

I stayed at the Branicki in April on a business trip for 4 nights. This hotel is in a quiet street so you should not be disturbed by early morning traffic or passers by. We worked quite late into the evenings so didnt see much of our surroundings, so I cant say how close this is to the centre of Bialystok, but if you're arriving by train its about a 10 minute cab ride. The hotel reception is fairly small, quite a lot of dark wood but feels very hospitable and homely. My room was quite charming, it felt more like a guest bedroom at a friends house than a hotel room - everything was clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was fine. I have no complaints about this hotel at all - in fact its worth eating in the restaurant, the food was really lovely, although the menu choice was a little limited. Overall, I would definitely stay at the Branicki again

We were anxious about Bialystok, away from the mainstream of Poland and aware of this being under Communist control for years. In fact, we were thrilled by this hotel; great location to visit some distant family, take the bus to the national forest to see the bison, and walk in pleasant parks and enjoy very good food, both at the hotel and in town. Great spa, free sauna with a private reservation, more than adequate breakfast, served with panache.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet upper floor room. It is worth the slightly higher charge to get a "color room&q...

Here a large spacious and peaceful non-smoking twin room on an upper floor was allocated for this two night stay. This had a well appointed bathroom too, with both a bath and a separate shower.

The local style meals in the hotel were pleasant, good quality and served attentively by the helpful staff. The only downside was they had to be taken in the underground bar/club area on the Saturday night, as a wedding party was occupying the main restaurant that night. However, here you received a discount on repeat drink orders from the bar during the meal.

The receptionist was also very helpful – looking up bus times [from nearby stops] to the PKP rail station [about 1 km away], both for early on Saturday and also on Sunday after a late breakfast. This breakfast was good too, with a wide variety of items, including fresh fruit as well as more typical Polish sweet cakes, along with cereal, hot items plus there even was a toaster available…

Room Tip: For peaceful sleep get a room facing the inner courtyard.

I have stayed at the hotel in Fabruary attending a conference.Nothing bad it is just average. Small room, noise from the street, smell from shower cabin, almost no amaneitis in room and bathroom. Disappointing and expensive restaurant. Bar has a nice atmospher,is modern and nice, staff is very helpful and friendly, but I think hotel is a bit too expensive for what it is.

Good clean traditional rooms, good breakfast, great location, walking distance to most locations of interest. Shower, toilet and bathroom were excellent (not necessarily so in Europe). Staff helped us arrange local trips. Fluent English spoken.
A great place to stay if you need to follow up on your family history. Close to USC (births, deaths and marriages) who were very helpful and close to the Archives.

Comfortable and clean rooms with free wi-fi; helpful staff; and good restaurant. I had room on the main hotel; but my colleague in the annexe found the room too hot. Decor was traditional but off-beat with fittings (switches, mirrors etc) and furniture all mounted at angles.
