We stopped at "Unikat" for a coffee break. We enjoyed the outdoor seating and admired the original decor, such as the life-size European bison in the middle of the front garden. The coffee was strong and the cake was fresh and tasty.
We also walked around the grounds that are arranged with great taste and designed for all kinds of clientele in mind. We found a playground with swings, a charming pond and well kept gardens.
The staff is very friendly and has a great attitude.

Lovely people, great service, nothing was too much trouble. Well located with a fabulous breakfast included in the price of the accommodation. Really good value. Great restaurant with a variety of all the Polish dishes you would want. However, they could do with some fly screens on the windows, as the Bialowieza mosquitoes are very friendly.

A week ago we visited with my husband guesthouse " Unikat". It was a great experience nice people, good home made food and small but very cozy room. Such a romantic getaway in a beautiful natural wilderness. The only thing we lacked was the snow but weather is the only unpredictable thing. In summary nice place for an affordable price.

Stayed here with four of my friends for a short birdwatching holiday. The accommodation was comfortable enough, good value and well located. The vast majority of the waiting staff, although non English speaking, were pleasant and helpful (one lady was particularly good and enthusiastic - and took photos for us at the end of our stay). There was also good co-operation for early breakfasts. However, there were some notable downsides.

The bar closed at 10 pm and the minute people left their tables in the restaurant (much earlier than 10 pm), lights were switched off for the areas they vacated. At 10 pm prompt, the owners were often to be seen counting out the cash at the area behind the bar. All of this created a rather lacklustre atmosphere. Indeed, the owners' attitude was far from welcoming and it took them all their time to speak to us. Another big negative was that not once during our four night stay did anyone come to clean our rooms which were only blessed with one (bath) towel.

With a more welcoming and better attitude from the owners, I would have recommended this for a stay. However, if I did return to this lovely little village, I would probably seek out an alternative. It costs nothing to smile but it can make a lot of difference !
