Really unusual place, probably the only hotel in the world, that your rooms are either train carriages or rooms at the water tower, we had them both and it was a great and unusual experience, very recommended if you are staying in that area.

This place is absolutely awesome. The experience of sleeping on an old railway station can't be easily beaten. Unfortunately the rooms in the train were booked but still our room was super clean and maintained the charm and feeling of the Tsar era. It is not only a place to stay but an experience and I highly recommend it despite the price. It's worth it. Big plus for accepting pets free of charge.

Room tip: All rooms are cool, but the ones in the train are the coolest.

This place probably is more expensive than some of the other places you'll stay in Poland, but it is definitely worth a visit. The staff are helpful, professional and friendly. The accommodation is very special, the dining rooms are very elegant and reminiscent of a different era, the breakfasts are great and the food in the restaurant excellent. We stayed 4 nights and would happily have stayed longer.

In the middle of the Bialowieza forest lies a disused station (the old 'goods' station for ordinary mortals, the Palas station for the tzar and his family is up the road in the village, currently being renovated) which is converted into a pretty classy restaurant, with tables inside and on the platform, outside. There are bedrooms in various buildings including a converted water tower and four specially created coaches ('wagons' to the lovely Konrad, one of the two owners of the development) designed to repeat those of the last Tzar's special train: this was where he liked to come and hunt. The whole experience makes Bialowieza 'worth a journey' in MichelinSpeak. And the forest is beautiful too -- go in the early morning and hear the birds sing -- and maybe spot a bison. Enjoy!

My wife and I stayed in one of the renovated Tsar's carriages. What a unique and superb experience. The carriage was spotless and very comfortable. The night was so beautifully quiet and the sky full of bright stars. A magical experience.

The staff were both very friendly and extremely efficient.

It is a long trek from Warsaw but if you combine it with a guided walk in the Bialowieza Forest and a wonderful meal in the Carska restaurant then a pretty awesome weekend break.

Room tip: The renovated train carriages are definitely the best option
