“White castle”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2012

Big castle in the middle of town, with only some parts open for tourists. You buy your tickets in the tourist information located in the small courtyard. Then you can go on top of the tower with good views (that's one of at least three viewing towers in Szczecin town center, all with rather similar views). Your ticket gets you also to castle museum in an east wing, than you can go to the permanent/temporary exhibitions located all over castle (in small settings), than there's a crypt available free of charge, but open in summer only. Big courtyard is taken for a stage, when some live gigs and other events take place in warmer part of year.

“Griffin heart”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012

At the beginning it was a hut on the mountain top. Over time, masonry, and later extended by successive Griffin. This is our story. From my knowledge only during the last big overhaul dorobiono staircases. It is a pity. It had to be beautiful and without them. Castle has two courtyards. Recently the main courtyard was unavailable because it was done on the archaeological excavations. I will not tell what to do next because the trip would lose meaning.

“Interesting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2012

At the time of visiting the site was being refurbished so not everything was open. I was able to see the small museum (all in Polish) which had some artefacts from the site, and climb the "scenic" tower for some stunning views over the city

“Enjoyed the viewing tower”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2011

When we went, there was a loud band playing in the courtyard (playing American music, ackk...) so we didn't stay long, but we enjoyed the viewing tower and would recommend it. It was about 1euro / person and the kids enjoyed both the climb to the top and the view. We didn't go to anywhere else in the castle so I don't know what else they have.

“Visit in Stetin after 65 years”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2009

I thought my visit to Stettin after such a long time, would be very emotional. But I was surprised how nice it was. First of all the Radisson SAS Hotel was real nice, especially the food, it was top notch. Breakfast was there for every nationality.

Our tour guide Anna, a very experienced lady, made us very welcome and was impressive with her knowledge of the city and the history. I remembered things from my childhood school field trip, but of course from Anna I learnt so much more. The inner city still had many sites that had not changed and others that had been restore very nicely. Unfortunately the house where my family once lived did not look so nice anymore.
But otherwise we enjoyed our trip and also the visit to the Cafe 22, which gives you a wonderful panorama view of the city and environ.

The only bad thing was that we were confused as to what track our train for Hamburg would depart from. The poster was not marked very well and we could not find anyone at the station that spoke Englsh or German, but eventually after carrying our suitcases up and down the stairs from track one to three, we finally got on the right train.
