Mercado tapas bar is definitely something new and fresh in Gdańsk. except tapas and bocadillos you can also order some main dishes which are made on your eyes. great dishes, cheap prices, dffrent kinds of wine, Spanish Estrella beer, really kind personnel, great music and modern decor made this place something alternative to the most of bars in yhe Old Town.
i'll definitely visit this place once again!

Spanish tapas is at the very heart of their lifestyle and culture. Everywhere you go in Spain you will find lively and noisy bars serving small plates of superb flavours and local delicacies.
Now you can also find it while visiting Gdansk as an alternative to the polish cuisine. The Mercado tapas restaurant is located close to a big shopping mall on the main street of Wrzeszcz (Langfuhr).

The Mercado tapas bar/restaurant opened about a month ago, just in time to greet many of the Spanish fans who came to watch the Euro 2012 football in Gdansk and is about as close to the real thing as you'll get, here in Gdansk.
The main chef is Spanish as are his assistants, and a Spaniard we shared our table with claimed that only his mother made a better paella than the one he was eating here. We tried various tapas, an assortment of chorizos and jamon iberico, as well as their patatas bravas and the tortilla de patata and quenched our thirst on their Estrella (15 zl for a 1 litre bottle!).

Very pleasant atmosphere, very reasonable prices and very good food. If you want a taste of Spain in northern Poland, look no further!
