The chateau is beautiful but crowded during the season - be prepared to wait, so if you want to go inside just go buy tickets, get reservation for the guided tour and then go to the gardens which are really beautiful and worth seeing.

We have visited Lednice while on a city break in Brno. It's a short drive and it's definitely worth it. Beautiful interiors and gardens where you can easily spend a couple of hours admiring continental architecture.
The palace and gardens can only be rivaled by the great homes of Austria or France. Be sure to take the time to wander the gardens, the greenhouse, the waterways as well as a tour of the stately palace itself.
Many people recommend spending a couple of days in the area and taking a bicycle trip from Lednice to the nearby town of Valtice where the palace of a neighbouring noble family called home.
We came here for a quick stop, we stayed whole day. We didn't enter the castle as ir was too crowded, but instead we were wondering the park. We recommend taking a horse carriage, than a 40 min boat trip and finally 1,5 km stroll in the park. Kids loved it.
It was a hot day but we managed to admire the castle with refined architecture, its stables and its greenhouses. You can admire magnificent state rooms, the private apartments of the lords and the rooms of the princes and princesses, as well as a cave with its ghosts as they said!We then walked around the lake. Our goal during the ride was to join the minaret, an astonishing and amazing monument in this Czech countryside.
Give yourself a whole day if you can and get there early. Walk around the gardens, the conservatory is simply beautiful, the castle is breathtaking and the land around is a pleasure to walk around, once you have seen the minaret you can book a horse and cart ride back to the main entrance. Do it!
oohhhh the ice cream shop does some lovely flavours!
