We went to Zorbas for lunch on Saturday. It is a sleepy time in Brno, so we were not surprised to find the place almost empty.
Setting: The decoration, although not my personal style, may get you in the right mood. Unfortunately the music played was American pop rather Greek. The tablecloths seemed like they needed a decent wash. I was surprised to see that the food was served right on them, not even on a placement or a paper cloth, as sometimes done in casual restaurants.
Service: the menu was in Czech only, the waitress could also speak Czech only. We’re lucky that we can speak some Czech. The service was fair.
Food: the food was not fresh to say the least. In the eggplant tapas that we ordered we could see certain places with crust – the kind that you’ll see if you left a spread not covered in the fridge!! Needless to say that we did not eat it. The vegetables that came with the main dish seemed tired. Didn’t touch them as well. The only good serving was two skewers of grilled chicken (souvlaki). We didn’t even consider trying the desserts.
Price: high compared with local restaurants, certainly compare with what we were served…
In summary: not planning to visit this place again.
