“Ritzy Ricc?”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

We were here for couple of nights in sweltering weather and were very happy to collapse into our big coooool airconditioned room (402) on the top floor. It's easier to find than you think; drive round Husova until you get to the Barcélo hotel and turn into the city through the taxi park; right up the pedestrian only cobbled hill; bear left down the hill, into the market;turn left after the theatre (Divadlo), statue and two cafés and pull in slightly up the street on the left. Hotel Royal Ricc is opposite you. After you've unloaded your car can for a fee be parked for you (and brought back when you need it). Really good service there.

The hotel is so well located - couldn't be better for tourism. It has everything a traveller needs including a free welcome drink at the tiny bar. There is a restaurant, but we went elsewhere as it happened. Excellent breakfast. I have to disagree (de gustibus non est disputandum) with a previous reviewer and say that the murals and painted glass looked like they'd got the kids in from the beginners' finger painting class, but there we are... Friendly staff (the car parker was unable to get his head round a right-hand drive car and was convinced someone had stolen the steering wheel) and a fair price for a big room. A good place.

Make sure to get room 102 or 101 facing the street, as they are larger and better laid out. Breakfast is pretty decent, room decor is medieval with brick floors, and the shower is Euro useless, but overall a great location and good service.

We stayed 4 nights (room 405) Not the cheapest of hotels available but we were prepared to pay extra for air conditioning. When hotels advertise air con, it can be a bit hit and miss. Very pleased to say their air conditioning was uber efficient, with soaring temperatures outside we quite liked to retreat to our ice cold room. There are no views from the windows as the whole lot are stained glass effect.(not double glazed as you can hear noise from the restaurants and bars; the only major noise issue was Karoke night on the Tuesday!)Staff were pleasant, breakfast excellent buffet. The maid was a bit stingy with the soap, we were expected to use one for the whole four days. The towels should be changed when you put them in the bath, but she just kept fishing them out of the bath and hanging them back up.(probably not hotel policy)
All in all would recommend as five minutes walk from everywhere including railway station airport bus stop

The hotel rooms are fine. Beautiful painted ceilings. Internet. The decorations in the hotel include beautiful stained glass that are spectacular. Beautiful antiques; good service; excellent European style breakfast. Good location.

Just one block from the central square, this place is a small gem. The staff greets guests in a warm, friendly manner and the hotel is elegantly appointed with stained glass interiors and clean, comfy rooms. Excellent buffet breakfast and near restaurants and shops plus the main tourist sites, what more could you ask for?
This is the kind of place that makes one eschew chains!

Room Tip: Go! This is a small gem near the tourist area. Don't miss it!

The location is good. Very near to town center. The main rail station is walking distance. The rooms are old fashioned. There is a lift in the hotel but no parking. The breakfast is very good. There is a TV in room but no good English channels. The hotel has free WiFi but it is not really reliable. Staffs speak English. I stayed at this hotel for few days on a business visit. Although the hotel is nice, I would not pay that much for a personal visit.
