We found this place by accident and walk in for beer but decided to stay for dinner. Young man was very nice and recommend us some local beer and speciality's from the menu. We were lucky to get table and it was middle of the week. Nice easy atmosphere and food was good.

September means the National Theatre Brno opens its new season with a public concert that is free of charge. In this way the National Theatre Brno invites Brno citizens to buy tickets and enjoy the opera, drama and ballet performances. The main building, i.e. Janacek theatre, has been under reconstruction for a long time, This autumn would be decorated with the Janacek festival. I myself want to see the Cunning Little Vixen, Janacek´s opera celebrating Life. It was really nice to watch and listen to the singers not only from the Green Square but also from the terrase of the Market Hall.

We'd have to disagree with a few recent reviewers who suggest that the square is ordinary.
At one end of the square is the beautiful art nouveau Hotel Grandezza (where we stayed), with its huge hand-painted glass ceiling and mosaics in the lobby. It the middle of the square is the Parnas Fountain, which dates from 1693-95 and at the other end of the square is the Centre of Experimental Theatre, which has a stunning sculpture of a woman sitting high up on a ledge. The square is also home to the Spalicek Restaurant, which is a great place to eat and watch the world go by.

The square is the home of local fruit and veg sales. Heaps of produce at inexpensive prices. It has a large beautiful fountain in the centre and interesting statues. Also has some coffee shops.

It's the central square of BRNO in the old town where you can find local market with fruits and Parnas fountain

It's just a regular square and doesn't really stand out. Several cafes around. Maybe its underground is more exciting.

More than one year there had been a reconstruction and the result is not very attractive. Well, perhaps nice place for stalls but in the afternoon when they disappear there is only a big nothing. Perhaps a little green - some tree, flowers - or a place for sitting and contemplating could have been included. It seems there is not many innovative thoughts in Brno to make the city more attractive both for locals and tourists.

Here you can find the "belly" of Brno Town: fresh and mostly tasty fruit and vegetables, a great selection of flowers in the vincinity of Baroque fountain Parnas (designed by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach). Lot of picturesque café´s around - you can sit and enjoy :-)

We were in Bruno in January, it was so cold and icy however it was still nice to look around quickly. I'm sure it would be even nicer when the market is all set up. Unfortunately In January they didn't have the market.

A busy square filled with stalls spilling over with fruit, vegetables and flowers - some shaded seats dotted around with the added quirkiness of small fountains decorated with animals....
